‘Maybe He Just Wants To Protect Women’ – U.S. Senator Backs Enes Kanter’s Stance After Trans-Athlete Stunt at Fever-Sky

Enes Kanter’s WNBA ejection sparks fresh controversy as a prominent U.S. Senator offers an unexpected perspective.

Enes Kanter’s appearance at the Indiana Fever-Chicago Sky game ended in controversy as he faced off with Natasha Cloud. The former NBA player was involved in a heated argument with the Sky guard and was ejected from the arena.

Cloud turned and walked toward Kanter to confront him. In response, Kanter also stood up and could be seen approaching with his arms spread wide near the courtside. The tense moment quickly drew attention online, with prominent U.S. politicians also weighing in.

U.S. Senator Makes Stance Clear on Enes Kanter’s Stunt

What started from Sophie Cunningham’s comments on trans athletes playing in women’s sports has now reached another level. From supporting Cunningham to identifying himself as a woman earlier this month, Kanter has become a major figure in the story.

While some viewers have taken issue with Kanter’s behavior, Senator Mike Lee from Utah offered a different perspective on the incident.

“Or maybe he just wants to protect women,” Senator Lee wrote while reacting to a post criticizing Kanter for his stunt.

Sisson posted a video of Kanter speaking with security while he was being ejected from the game. He wrote, “Washed NBA player Enes Kanter just got kicked out of a WNBA game after harassing players. What a loser. No NBA teams want him on their roster so he’s resorted to crap like this. Total weirdo. Find a hobby!”

The comment reflects the divide surrounding Kanter’s appearance at the Fever-Sky game. After the incident, Kanter took to X and wrote, “I just got kicked out of a WNBA game for supporting WOMEN! Let that sink in, AMERICA!”

Kanter later said he was attempting to celebrate a Cunningham three-pointer. He added that a couple of possessions later, Cloud attempted to confront her.

After the game, Cloud reiterated her support for the trans community with a post on social media.

“To every trans kid/person, you are a part of my community and tribe. You belong. You’re loved. You’re seen. You’re perfect as you are. And you will always be protected by me,” she wrote.
