Caitlin Clark is in the midst of an impressive run, and continued her explosive form by recording her fourth career triple-double against the Portland Fire on Friday.
However, Clark was surprisingly omitted from a graphic for the WNBA MVP race by broadcaster ION, leaving fans surprised.

Amid her dominant run, Clark has moved up to third place in the scoring charts and is also the second-leading assist maker in the WNBA. However, ION left out the 24-year-old in its WNBA MVP race graphic, with A’ja Wilson, Kelsey Mitchell, Paige Bueckers, Olivia Miles, and Breanna Stewart headlining the five-player shortlist.
The graphic was shared on social media by BrickCenter.

Fans had mixed reactions to the graphic, with one claiming that the entire WNBA landscape was rigged against Clark.
“I am going back to continue to herald it into oblivion… This system is rigged against her. Miles should not be anywhere near this list. She could average 30 and 8/4/2/2 and she’s not getting it. The entire media complex is against her,” they wrote.

Barstool founder Dave Portnoy also weighed in and claimed that Clark absolutely deserved to be in MVP contention.
“Don’t look now but Caitlin has entered the chat for MVP as she put up a triple double last night and the Fever are red hot. 26-10-10. Not bad for the 11th best guard in the league. She’s scoring 25 plus every night now,” he wrote.

Another fan compared Clark to Luka Dončić, claiming that two of the best offensive players in basketball often face disrespect from their respective leagues.

Another claimed that the WNBA was always looking to undermine Clark’s accomplishments.

One user pointed out Clark’s stats and compared them with those of the five players included in the projection graphic released by ION.
“The WNBA trying to say Caitlin isn’t in the MVP race is crazy when some people on here stats aren’t even as good as Caitlin’s,” they wrote.

However, not everyone felt that Clark was being disrespected, as one fan claimed that the Fever superstar was not a candidate for the MVP race.

Clark is averaging 21.6 points, 8.0 assists, 4.1 rebounds, and 0.9 steals per game this season and has scored at least 25 points in four of her last five games for the Fever.
Next up for the high-flying Fever is a clash against WNBA leaders Minnesota Lynx on Sunday, and a strong performance would certainly go a long way in helping Clark further boost her MVP credentials.
