In any profession, having support from people in your community recognizing you for doing something that many people dream of can never go unnoticed. Last Wednesday, October 15, 2025, Chicago Sky forward Angel Reese had the opportunity of a lifetime, walking the runway in the 2025 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show.
Reese sent social media buzzing with fans of fashion and sports alike applauding her for her confidence and beauty on the night. One person who took the time to mention how stunning Reese looked during the runway show was fellow WNBA player and Indiana guard Sophie Cunningham.
Sophie Cunningham Comments on Angel Reese
On the Tuesday, October 21 episode of Cunningham’s podcast “Show Me Something” alongside co-star and best friend West Wilson, among the topics discussed, Cunningham mentioned the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show, thinking of the event as “my Super Bowl.”
She then shared her thoughts on Reese’s appearance in the show: “Angel walked in it and she killed it… like absolutely killed it.” Cunningham would tell her co-host that being a Victoria’s Secret runway model has been her dream since childhood.
Since Cunningham entered the WNBA, her tunnel walks and outfits have been a media spectacle. Brands, photographers, and everyone else have admired her fashion sense and confidence in her ability to pull off any look she desires. So, having dreams of being a Victoria’s Secret Angel makes sense.
The amount of love and support many women have been giving Angel Reese is one thing; however, when another WNBA player and personality help magnify your achievement, this is a different kind of validation. It shows the unity that WNBA players have amongst themselves, and it seems like, to some extent, when one WNBA player succeeds, everyone else does their part to take notice and show love around the league.
Cunningham giving Reese such a big compliment will only deepen and strengthen the global brand that Reese has been working to build ever since her college basketball days. With an endorsement portfolio that already includes the likes of Sony PlayStation, the Reese’s Peanut Butter candy brand, and McDonald’s, among others, Reese is wasting no time building and crafting her life after basketball.
In the brand-heavy and social media-friendly generation that many WNBA players are living through, lucrative opportunities may present themselves to players like Reese.
The groundwork and blueprint that Reese, along with many other WNBA players, is laying for future generations will allow women’s basketball players to be taken more seriously for their on-the-court accolades and their off-the-court business-minded approach. Everyone will rush to see the next great move Reese will make.
