‘(Napheesa) Collier ROBBED’ – Fans React As Aces Star A’ja Wilson Wins 4th WNBA MVP

A’ja Wilson has made WNBA history with her fourth MVP award, but the announcement has sparked fiery debates among fans. Find out what the fans are saying.

The 2025 WNBA Playoffs are heating up, with second-round battles just around the corner and fans on edge. But before the action continues, the league delivered one of the season’s biggest announcements, which is the winner of the Most Valuable Player award.

This year’s debate has centered mainly around Minnesota Lynx forward Napheesa Collier and Las Vegas Aces superstar A’ja Wilson, and one of them has captured the throne.

Is A’ja Wilson’s Latest Move Shocking Her Fans?

On Sunday, ESPN’s Shams Charania reported that Wilson had officially secured the honor, making league history as the first player ever to capture four MVP awards. He wrote, “Breaking: Las Vegas Aces star A’ja Wilson has won the 2025 WNBA MVP award, becoming the first player in league history to win the honor four times, sources tell ESPN.”

While the accomplishment cements Wilson’s legacy, it has also set social media ablaze, and fans immediately voiced their reactions.

What Are the Fans Saying About A’ja Wilson’s New Achievement?

One of the loudest reactions online was the belief that Napheesa Collier deserved the trophy. The Lynx star put together her most efficient season yet, making a career-high impact despite carrying one of the league’s heaviest scoring loads.

Collier shot 53.1% from the field, connected on 40.3% of her attempts from beyond the arc, and averaged a personal-best 22.9 points per game. Moreover, her shooting splits placed her in elite company, as she became just the second player in WNBA history to achieve the 50-40-90 benchmark, a feat only Elena Delle Donne had previously accomplished in 2019.

Many fans argued that such historic efficiency should have been rewarded with MVP honors. “Collier ROBBED,” wrote one user, whereas another said, “Wow, I thought Phee was gonna win.”

Since arriving in the league, Caitlin Clark has been one of the most captivating players to watch. However, her 2025 campaign was derailed by a series of injuries, including leg issues, a left quadriceps strain, and persistent groin problems. She missed 28 regular-season games, including the Commissioner’s Cup game.

Before being sidelined, Clark still averaged 16.5 points, 8.8 assists, and five rebounds per game. Fans pointed out that had she stayed healthy, Clark might have won the award this season. “Caitlin would have won it if not for injuries,” commented one fan.

Wilson’s dominance this season has also sparked a new debate. The 2025 MVP averaged 23.4 points, 10.2 rebounds, and 3.1 assists per game. More importantly, she recorded more than 20-point and 30-point double-doubles than anyone else in the league this year, which showcased her ability to control games on both ends of the floor.

Comparisons to former WNBA superstar and four-time champion Maya Moore have become particularly prevalent. “Is she better than Maya Moore all time ?” said one fan.

While most fans were locked in debates over whether A’ja truly deserved the award or if Collier had been overlooked, one fan took a completely different angle.

Instead of weighing in on the MVP controversy, they shared a surprised photo of Wilson’s boyfriend, Miami Heat star Bam Adebayo, playfully suggesting how thrilled he’ll be when he sees the trophy up close. “Bam when Aja brings the trophy home,” wrote the user.

As the playoffs continue and Wilson pursues another championship to complement her record-breaking MVP collection, the debate over her place in WNBA history will undoubtedly intensify.
