Fans were in for a treat as they got to witness Napheesa Collier and Caitlin Clark coming together, picking their star power for the upcoming 2025 WNBA All-Star games.
Making headlines, Collier selected Paige Bueckers to her team as the eighth overall starter live on ESPN. As fans look forward to rookie Bueckers up against Caitlin Clark, Collier surprised fans with a social media post announcing their union.
Napheesa Collier Happy To Reunite With Baby Husky Paige Bueckers
Napheesa Collier expressed her enthusiasm for getting to play with Paige Bueckers on X with a short two-word remark. She wrote, “Can’t wait”, with a picture of them together.
On Team Collier, Bueckers will also star alongside Breanna Stewart, Allisha Gray, and Nneka Ogwumike. Reserves on the team include names such as Angel Reese, Kelsey Plum, Skylar Diggins, and Alyssa Thomas. They will be coached by Cheryl Reese.
This also means that three former UConn stars will shine together in the WNBA All-Star games: Collier, Bueckers, and Breanna Stewart.

Bueckers is the only rookie participating as an All-Star starter this year. She earned her first All-Star nod just a few months into her professional career. Former UConn Huskie Gabby Williams also earned her first nod this year, but as a reserve.
For Collier and Stewart, this is their fifth and seventh appearance, respectively.
Bueckers entered the league with multiple connections, all thanks to her days at UConn. This All-Star selection was among the different examples of bonds she’s built over the last few years, on and off the court. So much so that Colier was the one to call Bueckers a boon to the WNBA before she even entered the league.
On Podcast P with Paul George in November 2024, she said, “I think the future of the WNBA is so bright. Just even (Paige Bueckers and JuJu Watkins) are so fun to watch. Just really great talents, so bringing that obviously is going to improve the product. It was such an explosion this year of a cult following of these new rookies; those two, specifically, have the same thing… I think both of them are generational talents, honestly.”
Both Collier and Bueckers are among the top players on their individual teams. However, Collier’s team, the Lynx, are far better in terms of their performance so far this season. While Dallas is trying to hold their end of the bargain with a 6-14 record, Minnesota currently sits at a 17-2 record.
Team Clark will face Team Collier on July 19 at the Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis.
