LaMelo Ball Drops Honest 5-Word Reaction on Lynx Star Olivia Miles Amid Breakout Rookie Season

Minnesota Lynx star Olivia Miles is attracting a lot of eyeballs. Now the newest member of the Timberwolves is raving about her too.

Maya Moore, Napheesa Collier, and Olivia Miles. What do all these women have in common? For one, they’re either former or current Minnesota Lynx players. Moore and Collier developed into some of the very best players in the WNBA. Miles is already forcing her way into those conversations, too.

Moore won an MVP award, helped lead the Lynx to four WNBA championships, and now is resting easy in the Hall of Fame. Collier is still just 29 years old, but she’s earned four All-WNBA nods, and could very well be a key piece on a championship team too.

But Miles? She’s the glue that could evoke memories of Moore, helping lead the Lynx back to the promised land, and her play is attracting a lot of attention.

LaMelo Ball Impressed by Olivia Miles’ Game

The newest member of the Minnesota Timberwolves, LaMelo Ball, is known for his flashy flair on the court, capable of making the crowd ooh and aah with every pass. Yet, when the 24-year-old All-Star turns on the TV and sees Miles play ball, he can’t help but be enamored with her skill.

Speaking for the first time since his trade from the Charlotte Hornets to the North Star State, as a fellow point guard, Ball was asked whether he was familiar with Miles’ game.

To which Ball replied, “Yeah, of course, she’s cold.”

Miles arrived in the league as the No. 2 overall pick in the 2026 WNBA Draft, and she’s been earning fans all around the globe ever since.

The 23-year-old rookie has been the leading scorer, averaging 19.4 points per game on what’s been the WNBA’s best team thus far, as the Lynx sit at 18-6. Not only does she rank 10th in the WNBA in scoring, just behind Caitlin Clark, but Miles also leads the Lynx with 5.7 assists per game, good enough for ninth in the WNBA.

As Ball said, “She cold.”

Miles is already two steps ahead of most rookies. Some players never even reach the level of talent that she’s displayed thus far, and this is only the tip of the iceberg for the first-year player.

What Miles is doing as a first-year player is nothing short of incredible. To think she’s just beginning what looks like a very successful WNBA career is exciting.
