Is Caitlin Clark Playing Tonight vs. Sun? Latest Update on Fever Star’s Quad Injury

A look into All-Star guard Caitlin Clark's status going into the Indiana Fever's regular season matchup against the Connecticut Sun.

Indiana Fever guard Caitlin Clark missed more than two weeks after suffering a quad injury during a May 24 game against the New York Liberty. Fortunately for the Fever, the 2024 Rookie of the Year is no longer on the injury report and is expected to start her second straight game Tuesday against the Connecticut Sun.

Clark isn’t one to stay on the sidelines for long, and she came out firing in her return Saturday after a five-game absence. She logged 31 minutes, posting 32 points, eight rebounds, and nine assists, just shy of a triple-double.

The Fever (5-5) have hovered around .500 all season. With a tough stretch ahead featuring the Sun, Golden State Valkyries, and Las Vegas Aces, Indiana fans will be thrilled to see Clark back and healthy as the team looks to gain momentum and climb the standings.

Caitlin Clark’s Lights Out Shooting Display Leads Fever to Win Over Defending Champions

The Fever will enter Tuesday’s game against the Sun with plenty of confidence. Stephanie White’s team returns to Gainbridge Fieldhouse after a statement 102-88 win over the previously unbeaten New York Liberty, who had opened the season 9-0.

Fueled by a standout performance from Clark, Indiana went toe-to-toe with the defending champions and took a 53-50 lead into halftime. The Fever kept their momentum going in the second half, outscoring the Liberty 49-38 to seal the win.

Clark led the way with 32 points and nine assists, while also adding eight rebounds, a steal, and two blocks in a complete performance.

Once again, it was Clark’s range that really hurt her opponents. She converted a game-high seven 3-pointers on the night, shooting 50% from behind the arc.

The 32 points were a team-high for the Fever and it was the first time this season the Iowa native crossed the 30-point mark. Over her short WNBA career, she has now recorded 30 or more points on five occasions in regular season games.

When healthy, Clark remains one of the most efficient and dominant players in the league. The Fever star has featured in five games this season. She leads Indiana in points (21.6), assists (9.2) and minutes (34.2), and ranks second in rebounds (6.4) and blocks (1.2) per game.
