Linda Cohn has been defending Caitlin Clark against detractors for quite some time now. One of her most recent tweets went viral, garnering 2 million impressions.
In July, David Dennis Jr. said nobody could argue that CC was a “top four guard” in the league. Cohn reshared the video and captioned her retweet: “Need a laugh?” followed by several laughing emojis.
This has led to Cohn receiving some backlash, with Cindy Brunson, a former colleague of Cohn’s, questioning her about where “this energy” for the W was when she was at ESPN. Cohn responded to Brunson and any other doubters she may have had, leading to praise from the WNBA world for her bravado.

Addressing the criticism from Brunson regarding her involvement in Clark-related opinions, Cohn wrote, “Fun fact Cindy: I actually did play-by-play for the WNBA for two seasons back in the day for ESPN when legends like Lisa Leslie and Tamika Catchings were playing in the league. And I was grateful to work with such amazing analysts like Ann Meyers and Nancy Lieberman. I didn’t just now discover the league existed.”
I struck a nerve.

Cohn pointed to ESPN and the “powers to be” for not allowing her to share candid opinions during her 34-year tenure with the media giant.
She ended her nearly two-and-a-half-minute rant by saying, “I’m not going to pretend I don’t see what’s happening just because saying it might upset somebody.”
Fans online loved what they saw from Cohn.
“I love Linda Cohn’s pure, unapologetic, and objective fight for Caitlin Clark’s rightful recognition,” said CBN reporter Will Dawson.

One WNBA fan said, “It’s nice to have someone who sees exactly what’s going on and isn’t afraid to call out the truth! Hopefully you don’t change sides like some of these other people have for no reason (cough Annie cough).”

“Strike some more nerves, Linda. Love it!” said another fan who played off Cohn’s caption for the tweet: “I struck a nerve.”
“Keep knocking it out of the park with the WNBA,” said another X user, hyped at Cohn’s stance.

“Love The Linda Cohn Show and her unleashed takes without holding back. She’s earned her stripes 1000x over,” said another fan who shared a similar sentiment.
One fan wants Cohn to continue to be her unabashed self, saying, “Stay on their necks, Linda!!” which was followed up with a few laughing emojis.

Another kept it short and simple, saying, “You’re one of the best to ever do it!”
Cohn certainly will keep her momentum going, especially after all the rave reactions she’s received from the WNBA world.
Prior to this slight hiccup, in which she had to defend herself against doubters, Cohn routinely took to X to call out aspects of the game or the narrative space she disagreed with.
Recently, she came across a clip of Zena Keita from back in June saying that the Indiana Fever should consider benching Caitlin Clark in favor of Raven Johnson.
Cohn vehemently disagreed with this, writing, “Makes perfect sense to those who make ridiculous observations.”
With Clark in the mix with several superstars on Team USA, fans can expect Cohn to have several opinions lined up as each game passes by.
