Mystics No. 6 Pick Georgia Amoore Has Fitting Reply for Critics After Matching Impressive Caitlin Clark Stat

The Washington Mystics' No. 6 pick, Georgia Amoore, started her WNBA journey on a high note by matching an impressive Caitlin Clark, Sabrina Ionescu stat.

The 2025 WNBA season is off to an exciting start, especially if you are Georgia Amoore, the Washington Mystics’ No. 6 overall pick at the Draft.

Not only is Amoore set to begin a new journey in Washington, but she’s already reaching stats set by WNBA icons Sabrina Ionescu and Caitlin Clark.

Georgia Amoore Has Begun Her WNBA Journey With An Impressive Caitlin Clark Stat

Amoore is one of three Division I players, including Clark and Ionescu, to achieve 2,300 points and 800 assists in a college career. Naturally, not many were surprised that the Mystics picked her at No. 6.

Of course, Amoore was asked about the stat during a recent interview. She also spoke about proving her worth and shutting down critics.

“Just my brain. I think, you know, it’s no secret that I’m on the shorter side. So having to use my brain and my abilities in different ways. I’ve had to study the game like I studied for a test in college. So I think, you know, it’s my passion, my joy and my brain,” Amoore said in the interview.

Though Amoore has built one of the most successful college careers, she still hears doubts about her size. But the former Virginia Tech star isn’t letting that hold her back.

“I’ve got the biggest heart. The biggest brain,” Amoore continued. “And sometimes you can’t count that unless you take it out of me, literally. But that’s what I pride myself in.”

Renowned Basketball Trainer Hyped Amoore for Incredible Stat Feat

Along with fans and Amoore herself, others have praised her latest accomplishment. Basketball trainer Chris Brickley gave her a shoutout in a recent Instagram post, writing:

“@georgiaamoore is a dynamic playmaker and scorer! Caitlin Clark, Sabrina Ionescu and Georgia are the only 3 players in NCAA Division I women’s basketball history to record over 2,300 career points and 800 assists! She’s def’ gonna be a top 10 pick in tomorrow’s @wnba draft!”
