The Indiana Fever began a three-game road trip this week which includes plenty of travel. Indiana took on the Golden State Valkyries in San Francisco on Thursday and will follow that up with games against the Las Vegas Aces and the Seattle Storm on June 22 and June 24, respectively.
Being on the road can be tough, but the Fever players made sure to take some time out to celebrate their head coach’s birthday.
Former Fever player Stephanie White was hired in November as the team’s new coach. The veteran leader has already made an impact on the squad, and the players decided to show their appreciation for White on her special day.

The Fever players are currently in Nevada as they prepare for a blockbuster matchup against reigning WNBA MVP A’ja Wilson and the Aces.
On Saturday, the players and coaching staff came together to share a wholesome moment with Coach White on her birthday. In a short video posted on X by reporter Chloe Peterson, the Fever team was captured singing “Happy Birthday” to the 48-year-old coach at a gym in Las Vegas.

The players had to hold off on handing Coach White her gifts. Her birthday was actually on June 20, but as she wasn’t with the team on Friday, her players had to wait until Saturday to celebrate with her.
White was not on the sidelines for the Fever’s loss against the Valkyries on Thursday, with assistant Austin Kelly taking over in her absence. White missed the game due to personal reasons but is now back with the team in Las Vegas.
The Fever coach spent the last two seasons with the Connecticut Sun, where she finished with an overall 55-25 record.

The Fever have high hopes for White, who has strong ties to the state of Indiana. She attended Seeger High School in West Lebanon and was named Indiana’s Miss Basketball in 1995. She chose to remain in-state for college, committing to Purdue University, where she spent four years.
White went on to play four seasons with the Fever and spent time as an assistant and head coach with the organization between 2011 to 2016.
