After ending the 2024 season with nine straight losses and finishing second to last in the standings, the Dallas Wings made big changes in the offseason. A new-look roster will take the court in 2025 with a mix of returning stars and fresh faces.
The team also has a new coach—former USC assistant Chris Koclanes, who now takes over a lineup full of All-Star talent, experienced vets, and promising young players.
The 2025 Dallas Wings Roster
Arike Ogunbowale, Teaira McCowan and Maddy Siegrist are three of the top names returning from last season.
Ogunbowale is one of the WNBA’s best scorers and can take over a game at any time. In 2024, she led the Wings in points (22.2), assists (5.1), and steals (2.1). McCowan, the 6’7″ center, gives Koclanes a true big who had a strong season on the boards and protecting the paint.
While Ogunbowale and McCowan will be key leaders, the Wings’ success may depend on how well the new players fit into Koclanes’ system.
Veterans NaLyssa Smith, Tyasha Harris and DiJonai Carrington all joined the team in the offseason and bring years of WNBA experience. Rookie Paige Bueckers played four seasons at UConn, one of the toughest and most talented programs in the country.
If the new players find their groove, the Wings could turn into a real contender in 2025.

Wings Potential Starting Lineup
After Caitlin Clark’s amazing 2024 season, all eyes are now on 2025 No. 1 overall pick Paige Bueckers. She’s expected to start right away as a rookie, and playing next to four-time All-Star Arike Ogunbowale should help take some pressure off.
Still, some fans and analysts have questions. Can Bueckers and Ogunbowale work well together? They both like to have the ball in their hands, so how they share the court will be something to watch. The first few weeks of the season should give us a better idea of how head coach Chris Koclanes plans to use the two guards.

At forward, NaLyssa Smith and DiJonai Carrington are expected to start. Smith was the No. 2 pick in the 2022 draft and looked great in her first two seasons with the Indiana Fever. But last year, her minutes and stats dropped. Now back in her home state of Texas, she’ll be looking for a fresh start.
Teaira McCowan is likely to start at center, giving Dallas a strong and balanced starting five.
Wings Draft Class
The 2025 WNBA Draft was loaded with talented guards, and the Wings took full advantage. They drafted four guards to build out their backcourt. Along with Bueckers, Dallas picked Aziaha James (No. 12, NC State), Madison Scott (No. 14, Ole Miss), and JJ Quinerly (No. 27, West Virginia).
The Wings also drafted Baylor center Aaronette Vonleh in the third round, but she was waived on May 6.
