‘Cooked Him,’ ‘Brainwashed’ — WNBA World at Odds As Cameron Brink Takes Savage Shot at Enes Kanter Over Trans-Athlete Stunt

WNBA world reacts as Cameron Brink blasts Enes Kanter over his latest WNBA trans-athlete controversy.

Cameron Brink has made her position on Enes Kanter’s WNBA controversy crystal clear, and she did not bother softening it. The Los Angeles Sparks star dismissed the transgender-athlete controversy as a “non-issue” before unloading on the former NBA center with a brutal attack.

Brink’s comments quickly set off a familiar WNBA split, with supporters cheering her on and critics firing back.

WNBA World Erupts After Cameron Brink Takes Aim at Enes Kanter

Brink’s remark came after Kanter was ejected from the Indiana Fever-Chicago Sky game at Wintrust Arena following his heated exchange with Natasha Cloud.

The former NBA center has since been banned from the arena, while the league also pushed back against what it described as his publicity-driven attempts to challenge the league’s processes.

Kanter first drew attention by releasing a video in early August, claiming he was eligible for the 2027 WNBA Draft because he identifies as a woman. He has continued using the issue to challenge the league’s eligibility policies.

After Sparks’ practice on Wednesday, WNBA reporter Jarrod Castillo of The Mirror US asked Brink about the controversy. She said she believed the issue was being used to target the transgender community before directing a series of expletives at Kanter.

“For me personally, when it comes to the trans issues I believe you’re talking about, I think it’s a non-issue and it’s people trying to just come for the trans community, and I just don’t stand for that. I don’t know what the [expletive] his name is, Enes Kanter, like he’s a stupid piece of [expletive],” Brink said.

Her comment was enough to set social media off, with both Brink’s backers and critics pouring out their takes.

“W Cameron. Idk why I expected anything other than clowns in the comments,” one Brink supporter posted, praising the Sparks star for speaking out.

“Perfectly said. Bum claims he is protecting women and all the women want is him to go away,” another supporter argued.

“Fry that loser,” another Brink loyalist declared.

“Cooked him,” one Brink supporter quipped.

One X user focused on Brink’s apparent attempt to dismiss Kanter, adding: “I don’t even know his name… Enes Kanter.”

But the pushback against the Sparks forward was just as sharp.

“Ok if it’s a non issue then Enes should be allowed to be considered a woman and play in the WNBA then Cameron!” one X user posted, challenging Brink’s characterization of the controversy.

“Who is Cameron Brink?” another critic fired back at Brink.

The harshest response accused Brink of being conditioned to accept the league’s position:

“Brainwashed to believe she has to welcome men into her locker room and spaces, or else she’s a bigot.”

Brink’s stance, meanwhile, fits with comments she has made since entering the WNBA. In 2024, she spoke about growing the league into a more inclusive space and broadening its fan base.

For Brink, there was little ambiguity in her response. She has now added herself to the growing list of players and media personalities who have heavily criticized Kanter.

The WNBA, meanwhile, has made it clear that it will not allow outside pressure to dictate its eligibility process.
