‘Better Watch Out’ – Candace Parker Sends Crucial Advice to Fever, Aliyah Boston for Their WNBA Playoffs Push

As the WNBA preps for their playoff season, Candace Parker shares valuable advice for the Indiana Fever, Aliyah Boston.

Even without Caitlin Clark, Sophie Cunningham, and Aari McDonald, the Indiana Fever somehow still have a chance to make the 2025 WNBA playoffs. Most fans had lost hope with an injury-laden roster, convinced that the season would have little to offer. However, with a 21-20 record and only a few regular-season games left, the team has kept its playoff hopes alive. Now, WNBA legend Candace Parker has some invaluable advice for the resilient squad.

What Is Parker’s Advice for Aliyah Boston and the Fever?

While on their podcast, “Post Moves with Candace Parker & Aliyah Boston,” the duo discussed the Fever’s current approach as the playoffs loom. With three games left, Parker asked Boston, the Fever’s star forward, about their game plan.

“I feel like we’re taking it one game at a time. So right now we have to be ready for Phoenix on the road. When we see them, obviously. And so for us, it’s just about coming with a mindset of just playing good basketball and great basketball for 40 minutes,” Boston explained.

Boston added that they have to continue putting solid performances together for longer stretches, especially as they aim for a playoff push at the end of this season.

“We just have to be able to put it together,” Boston continued. “I feel like that’s going to be our approach. And then, we have the Sky at home. So just making sure we come with that energy and we really put together a great game.”

Parker, for her part, chose to warn Boston about the danger of underestimating teams with nothing to lose.

“Word of advice: Do not relax against teams that are out of the playoffs. Because their Olympics and World Championship is beating somebody making them. So, the Sky and the Mystics. You better watch out for them.”

According to the three-time WNBA Champion, the Fever have no time to relax, especially if they want to achieve something special this postseason.

Indiana Fever’s Remaining 2025 WNBA Regular Season Schedule:

Friday, Sept. 5: Fever vs. Chicago Sky, 7:30 p.m. EST
Sunday, Sept. 7: Fever at Washington Mystics, 3:00 p.m. EST
Tuesday, Sept. 9: Fever vs. Minnesota Lynx, 7:30 p.m. EST

Will Parker Ever Coach in the WNBA?

In the same podcast episode, Parker also discussed her potential coaching career. While she doubts she will ever end up coaching in the WNBA, she knows which teams she would want to lead.

“I think the first coaching I’ll do is probably my kids. But if there were a WNBA team to coach, I would probably have to say it’s between the Indiana Fever and the Las Vegas Aces.”

Though Parker coaching in the WNBA might just stay a dream for fans, one can only imagine the expertise she would bring to the sideline. Listening to Parker’s words, Boston could only smile at the suggestion.
