‘Impact On and Off the Court’ — WNBA Reacts to Caitlin Clark’s Major Off-Court Announcement

WNBA fans react to Caitlin Clark expanding her off-court impact by announcing a new autobiographical children's book.

Caitlin Clark is officially back on the basketball court, but one of her biggest ventures of the 2026 season happened completely away from the hardwood.

The Indiana Fever star returned to action last weekend after an injury-shortened 2025 campaign during a preseason win over the New York Liberty.

WNBA Fans and Media React to Caitlin Clark’s New Children’s Book

As she continues to be an ambassador for women’s basketball, Clark has decided to author a book, sparking reactions across the WNBA community.

Clark is publishing a book about her life, which has revolved for years around basketball. Jack Lido, assistant sports director of KCRG-TV9, put up a few words about Clark’s book in a post on X.

“WNBA star Caitlin Clark is publishing a book based on her life, ‘EXTRAordinary! A Little EXTRA to Reach BIG Dreams,'” Lido wrote. “Illustrated by Adriana Predoi, the book’s inspiration comes from a mirror Clark had as a child. Images are courtesy of Penguin Random House and Two Tone Creative.”

“Basketball has given me so many incredible opportunities, but what has always meant the most to me are the people who’ve supported me along the way,” Clark said in a statement. “I hope this book reminds kids that they’re never alone in chasing their dreams and that giving a little extra to the people and moments is what makes them EXTRAordinary.”

An influencer wrote and posted on X, “Caitlin is releasing a children’s book called ‘EXTRAordinary! A Little EXTRA to Reach BIG Dreams’! It’s based on her life story, and the title is a nod to an inscription in her childhood bedroom: ‘The difference between ordinary and extraordinary is the little EXTRA.’ very cute!”

Longtime Fever fan Ken Swift also took notice of Clark’s new book but suggested an alternative title. Swift posted on X, “That book sounds cute Correlation but this is the book I’m waiting for her to write. @CaitlinClark22 @IndianaFever @PostMovesShow.”

Another influencer wrote and posted on X, “Impact on and off the court. And, you keep wondering why she is sooo loved.”

Another user posted the book description.

Clark missed a number of games last season due to injuries, but she’s returned to the court and is playing in some preseason contests for the Fever. Clark showed little rust during the preseason victory over New York. She orchestrated the Indiana offense with ease, giving the Fever fans a lot to look forward to this 2026 season.
