Caitlin Clark Drops Hyped 3-Word Reaction to Lexie Hull Replacing Her in All-Star 3-Point Contest

Caitlin Clark showed excitement on Instagram after teammate Lexie Hull replaced her in the 2025 WNBA All-Star 3-Point Contest due to injury.

Caitlin Clark couldn’t contain her excitement when she learned who would step into her shoes for the 2025 WNBA All-Star Weekend’s 3-Point Contest. When the Indiana Fever announced that her teammate Lexie Hull would replace the injured star, Clark’s reaction said everything about what this moment means for both players and the home crowd.

Why Is Lexie Hull the Perfect Replacement for Caitlin Clark?

The WNBA made it official: Hull will now compete against Sabrina Ionescu (New York Liberty), Allisha Gray (Atlanta Dream), Sonia Citron (Washington Mystics), and Kelsey Plum (Los Angeles Sparks) in the marquee shooting event.

Clark wasted no time showing her support. Taking to Instagram ahead of the All-Star Weekend, she posted a story of her teammate being announced as her replacement. She added a crisp and elated three-word caption saying, “Let’s get ittttt.”

Hull has earned her spot in the Contest. The guard ranks fourth in the WNBA in three-point field goal percentage at 46.8% this season. She has connected on 29 of her 62 attempts from beyond the arc, averaging 7.6 points, 4.7 rebounds, 1.7 assists, and 1.1 steals per game.

How Will Clark’s Injury Impact the Fever’s All-Star Plans?

Clark’s groin injury forces her to miss both the 3-Point Contest and the WNBA All-Star game. Brittney Sykes will now lead the team in her absence as Clark joins the coaching staff on the bench during the Contest. The injury occurred earlier this week, and Clark was rested against the New York Liberty before the Fever broke for the All-Star Event.

“I am incredibly sad and disappointed to say I can’t participate in the 3-point Contest or the All-Star Game. I have to rest my body,” Clark said in her statement. “I will still be at Gainbridge Fieldhouse for all the action, and I’m looking forward to helping Sandy [Brondello] coach our team to a win.”

This injury marks Clark’s fourth of the season. She previously dealt with a quad strain and a groin issue that sidelined her for 10 games, including the Commissioner’s Cup Final. Her absence is a significant blow for the Fever, who are looking to secure a playoff spot with 17 games left in the season.

Indiana’s hopes of making the postseason hinge on Clark’s return once the second half of the campaign resumes.

Despite the setback, Clark gave a positive update on her injury when she appeared on a “Good Morning America” segment with Sydney Colson, Aliyah Boston, and Kelsey Mitchell.

“I’m feeling good,” Clark said when asked how she was doing. “Obviously, a lot of this cheers me up. It’s good to see everybody out here having a good time.”

The WNBA Skills Challenge and the 3-Point Contest are slated for Friday, July 18, at 8 p.m. ET at Gainbridge Fieldhouse. The events can be watched live on ESPN. The two events will be followed by the WNBA All-Star Game on Saturday, July 19, at the same venue at 8:30 p.m. ET on ABC, Disney+, and ESPN+.
