Saturday night at Madison Square Garden was already special for New York Knicks fans as their team took down the Los Angeles Lakers 112-100. But the evening held extra significance for one WNBA star sitting courtside. Caitlin Clark, who was present at MSG, did not just watch the game. But she also made her broadcasting debut and sent a message to the entire league.
Caitlin Clark’s Recent Comment at MSG
Clark appeared on NBC Sports as a broadcaster for the very first episode of “Basketball Night in America.” Moreover, she did not waste any time making headlines. During her appearance, she made it clear she wants to see WNBA games played on the NBA’s biggest stages.
“First time in the MSG for a Knicks game… We got to talk to Adam about that (playing at MSG). Even if it is a preseason game, we need to get it done. I don’t think the Liberty will wanna move a game over here. But hopefully anybody… I think, as a player, this is kind of when you feel the atmosphere the most.”
“It is when you are out on the court warming up. There’s a different type of buzz. Obviously, when LeBron comes to town, it is probably really different. But Knicks fans are crazy, and I love it. I love that people are passionate about basketball. It is pretty incredible,” Clark said during the segment.

Her words also came as a breath of fresh air for Fever fans after everything she endured last season. The 2025 campaign was far from smooth for the former Iowa star.
The moment that still haunts Indiana supporters came late in the fourth quarter of a game against the Connecticut Sun on July 15. Clark had just set up Kelsey Mitchell with a perfect pass and was jogging back up the court when something went wrong. She suddenly grabbed the side of her right leg, and you could see the pain written all over her face.
Teammate Aliyah Boston rushed over to help. But Clark was too upset to accept comfort right away. At one point, she turned away and briefly hit her head against the basket support in frustration. When she got to the bench during the timeout, she sat there with a towel covering her head. She fought back tears while everyone in the arena felt her pain.
Clark would go on to miss 31 games due to a combination of leg, quad, and groin injuries. Even so, when she was healthy, she averaged 16.5 points, 8.8 assists, and five rebounds per game.
Despite her absence for much of the season, the Fever still finished with a 24–20 record. They then reached the playoffs, eliminated the Atlanta Dream, and even pushed the Las Vegas Aces to a dramatic five-game semifinal series before falling just short.
But that was last year, and now Clark’s got that fire back. She is energized about returning to the court. If her performance at the Team USA camp is any indication, Fever fans have plenty of reasons to be excited about this season.
