The second season of Unrivaled has already kicked off. It has been quite a week of basketball action. Rose BC is sitting pretty at the top of the table with three wins under its belt. But here is the thing. Everyone is not just talking about who is leading the standings right now. The real buzz is around a fresh sneaker debut that has got fans excited.
Breanna Stewart Is Turning Heads With Her New Shoe
Footwear specialist and journalist Nick DePaula recently took to his X account to reveal something special. It is the new “Stewie 5.” This is WNBA star Breanna Stewart’s fifth signature shoe with Puma, and it’s turning heads. DePaula also explained that Stewart has been lacing up her newest signature sneaker during the second season of Unrivaled.
Stewart struck a groundbreaking multi-year deal with Puma in 2021, marking her departure from Nike and making her the first WNBA player in over a decade to secure a signature shoe. That was a huge moment not just for Stewart but for women’s basketball as a whole.
“Anytime you hear signature, I think that’s jaw-dropping, eye-opening, especially on the women’s side. There haven’t been many. … For Puma to be able to put the signature element out there, [and] respect me enough where they think that I deserve a signature shoe, is something that’s super exciting,” Stewart told ESPN in 2021.
Her signature line, known as the Puma Stewie, began with the Stewie 1, which was unveiled in 2022 and officially released in its debut “Quiet Fire” colorway that same year. The Stewie 2 followed, debuting in the “Ruby” colorway in 2023. The name “Ruby” held special meaning as it was named after her daughter and symbolized motherhood.
The Stewie 3 launched in 2024, with its first colorway, “Dawn,” dropping that year. Then came the Stewie 4. It was introduced in early 2025, with the inaugural “Prism” colorway releasing in April 2025. Now, we have got the Stewie 5 making waves.
Now, let’s talk about her game.
If we look at last season, she averaged 18.3 points, 6.5 rebounds, and 3.5 assists per game. She helped the New York Liberty push their way into the playoffs. But unfortunately, the Liberty could not go far. They were eliminated in the first round by the Phoenix Mercury, which was a tough pill to swallow.
Currently, she is going strong in the second season of Unrivaled, averaging 17.0 points, 7.7 rebounds, and 2 assists per game. She has helped the Mist win two of their first three games. Now with the new Stewie 5 on her feet and the season just getting started, it remains to be seen what Stewart does next.
