Angel Reese commanded the biggest WNBA headline in the offseason when the Chicago Sky dealt her to the Atlanta Dream. The two-time All-Star packed her bags for the Southeast in early April and is expected to help transform the Dream into an immediate title contender.
However, her preseason outings have been far from satisfactory, and the internet took the opportunity to throw shade at her latest look for the 2026 Met Gala in New York.

On Monday, Reese arrived at the Metropolitan Museum of Art wearing a light pink, old-Hollywood-inspired trench coat gown custom-designed by Altuzarra.
Unfortunately, the fashion statement landed after uninspiring preseason performances against the Sky and the Washington Mystics.
Internet critics seized this opportunity to vent their frustrations about her on-court performances and styling choices, with American comedian Steve Byrne writing, “This dress looks like my sheets when I wake up.”
Meanwhile, another user wrote, “She needs to work on her layups.”
“Angel Reese pulled up to the Met Gala in wrinkled bed sheets,” House of Lowlights, a parody account, posted.

Her Met Gala look drew mixed reactions from the online community. Still, Reese was more than excited to be a part of the event.
Highlighting that attending the Gala along with other WNBA stars was a positive for the league’s growth, Reese said, “It’s just another expansion of women’s sports and continuing to build our brand outside of just being a basketball player. This organization has continued to help me on a platform, being able to be a part of something that’s special.”

While Reese forced her way out of Chicago after a highly publicized fallout, the Dream paid an absolute premium to acquire the most dominant rebounder in recent years.
The Dream sent its 2027 and 2028 first-round draft picks to the Sky to land Reese, who averaged 12.6 rebounds last season and recorded 13.1 rebounds per game as a rookie.
The financial commitment is equally significant, as Reese’s base salary will jump to $350,000 under the league’s new CBA.
She has looked out of rhythm in the Dream’s system so far, recording 10 points, 4 rebounds, and going 3-for-7 from the floor against the Mystics in Sunday’s preseason.
The early returns on the hardwood have not matched the enthusiasm of her arrival. Reese must quickly find her footing to help lead a championship run for the Dream.
