Aces Star A’ja Wilson Joins Elite Company Alongside WNBA Legend Candace Parker After Monster 37-Point Game

A'ja Wilson drops 37 points to lead the Aces to a win and joins Candace Parker with back-to-back 30-point double-doubles.

The Las Vegas Aces haven’t fared well in the consistency department this season, yet they have A’ja Wilson to rely on. The Aces star led the team to yet another win against the Dallas Wings, rather gloriously on Wednesday.

Orchestrating the 90-86 win, A’ja Wilson shattered yet another record, joining the company of Candace Parker in the pursuit.

A’ja Wilson and Candace Parker Are in a League of Their Own

An eye-opening stat line on Wednesday was not just a one-day feat, but a lifetime achievement for Wilson. The reigning WNBA MVP made history with a phenomenal 37 points, getting in the same club as Candace Parker to have back-to-back games with more than 30 points.

In other news, she also joins the elite company of Parker and Tina Charles to record multiple streaks of 30+ points double-doubles. The 28-year-old star leads four of the five main stats for her franchise this season. She’s averaging a team-high 21.5 points, 9.1 rebounds, and 3.3 assists, along with 1.6 steals and 2.4 blocks each game.

Her shooting splits include 47.1 percent from the field, 25 percent from the three-point line, and 84.6 percent from the free-throw line. Against the Wings, she scored 37 points, along with 10 rebounds and two assists. Plus, she shot 15-of-25 from the field and 7-of-12 from the free throw line. In the previous game, her stat line looked like this: 34 points and 16 rebounds, recording 75% of field goals.

Despite everyone pitching in for the win, Wilson showed her consistency and proved why she’s once again the right candidate for the MVP award. She’s the one keeping the Aces’ boat afloat and keeping them in the postseason contention.
By winning against Dallas, the Aces now improve to 11-11, coming in eighth, at the final playoff spot in the standings. With the All-Star break almost here, the Aces now have two back-to-back wins.

Wilson has been part of 17 games so far this season, averaging just a bit over 30 minutes each game. She has missed a few games here and there, but returned after sitting out for too long. Earlier this season, she was out due to the league’s concussion protocol, and then it was her wrist injury that kept her away from the court.
