A’ja Wilson stepped onto the court against Dallas and delivered the kind of performance that makes you remember why she’s considered one of the best players in the world. The Las Vegas Aces superstar erupted for a season-high 37 points and 10 rebounds, leading her team to a hard-fought 90-86 victory over the Dallas Wings. But what happened after the game showed why Wilson has earned respect far beyond her statistics.
How Did A’ja Wilson Show Her Appreciation for Dallas Wings Fans?
Taking to Instagram after the win, A’ja Wilson posted a story of her interaction with Wings fans and had a brief, but heartfelt four-word message for the team’s supporters.
“Dallas always shows love,” the forward/center wrote.
The gesture came after Wings fans showed their appreciation for Wilson’s dominant performance, despite watching their own team fall short in what turned out to be a thrilling contest. Wilson’s acknowledgment of the Dallas faithful highlighted the mutual respect between elite players and passionate fans, even across team lines.

What Made Wilson’s Performance So Dominant Against Dallas?
Wilson’s 37-point explosion came on efficient shooting, going 15-25 from the field and 7-12 from the charity stripe. This marked the fourth time in the 2024-25 season that she reached 30 or more points, and her 37 points tied for the most points scored in a single game this season.
Her eighth double-double of the campaign helped Las Vegas stave off a late rally by Dallas. The performance built on her recent dominant stretch, which included a 34-point, 16-rebound double-double against the Golden State Valkyries.

Wilson’s dominant performances helped the Aces end their season with a two-game winning streak at the halfway mark of the season. They are eighth in the standings with an 11-11 record after a dismal start to their 2024-25 campaign.
Why Is Wilson Carrying Such a Heavy Load for Las Vegas?
Much of the Aces’ success has come with Wilson spearheading the team on both ends of the floor. The three-time WNBA MVP continues to pile up the numbers across all statistical categories. She ranks second in scoring (22.3 points per game) and second in rebounds (9.2 per game), while leading the league in blocks (2.4 per game) and placing seventh in steals (1.6 per game).
However, injuries and inconsistency have been key reasons behind Las Vegas’ sputtering season so far. Wilson has picked up from where she left off in the 2023-24 season, averaging 22.3 points, 9.2 rebounds, and 3.2 assists.

The two-time WNBA champion has seen some support from Jackie Young (16.8 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 4.0 assists), veteran guard Chelsea Gray (12.1 points and 4.5 assists), and Jewell Loyd (11.2 points and 4.3 assists).
Wilson will now make her seventh WNBA All-Star appearance this season. This will be the sixth time she will make a start during the All-Star Game.
Looking ahead, Wilson and the Aces host the Atlanta Dream after the marquee All-Star weekend. They then hit the road for a four-game away stretch where they play playoff contenders Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever, followed by a stern contest against title favorites Minnesota Lynx, led by Napheesa Collier.
