A’ja Wilson’s Heartfelt Moment With Becky Hammon At Team’s 2025 Championship Parade
Wilson and the Aces have won three WNBA titles in four years, and the team is well on its way to becoming one of the most successful franchises in the WNBA. Considering the impressive achievement, the players are bound to celebrate.
Wilson, during the parade, shared a wholesome moment with the Aces’ head coach Becky Hammon. After all, the Aces couldn’t have bagged another title with Hammon.
Addressing fans at the parade, Wilson personally thanked Hammon, asking everyone to appreciate her efforts. According to Wilson, the Aces win nothing without Hammon leading them.
“I cannot talk long because Becky will have me crying up here,” Wilson said. “But when you’re talking about a woman that pours into you, that sacrifices for you, that loves you for who you are, that’s that mother-f**king Becky Hammon. And she believed in us when no one did. She brought us back to life. And I’m so appreciative of what you do and how you pour into each and every last one of us.”
Wilson added that Hammon has not only led them to another title but also changed the game altogether.
“We go nowhere without Becky Hammon. She’s changed the game… I don’t want anyone to take her greatness or any of our greatness for granted,” she said.
Dawn Staley Continues to Have Expectations for Wilson
While Hammon and Wilson have established their formidable partnership in the WNBA, South Carolina Gamecocks coach Dawn Staley continues to have high expectations for her former player.

In a recent interview, Staley stated her views: “I want A’ja to continue to be exemplary of just great players. You don’t often see great players get better before your very eyes. It usually takes a few years, but every year, A’ja gets better.” That is not an exaggeration either.
Wilson averaged 23.4 points, 10.2 rebounds, 3.1 assists, and 1.6 steals this regular season. She performed even better during the postseason, scoring 26.8 points, 10 rebounds, and 3.3 assists per game.
