The fun and games are all over for former NFL insider Dianna Russini. Now that she’s been caught in the act with Mike Vrabel, many believe she’ll never get another chance at getting inside scoops from the NFL ever again.
Aside from escaping with her family for a July 4 getaway, Russini has stayed out of the limelight since she resigned from The Athletic. While she may now be an outsider when it comes to the NFL, Russini could still provide some golden nuggets that fans would be interested in.
Will Dianna Russini Expose NFL Secrets?
Unless Russini is willing to open up, there’s no telling what she has all unsheathed in her decade-plus of time operating as an NFL insider with ESPN and The Athletic.
Some, like Front Office Sports’ Ryan Glasspiegel, can’t help but wonder whether Russini will eventually do a tell-all that exposes the NFL secrets that only she, and maybe a few others, know. He also suggests that Russini could still enjoy a different career, simply reporting breaking news rather than providing inside scoops all the time.
“If she returns to Twitter in five minutes and breaks a big trade or shock firing right now she could be a reporter too,” Glasspiegel wrote on X. “The scoop would be amplified. There’s not really any rules. The interesting Q to me is will she go after and expose tea about her friends who didn’t have her back in this saga. If that happens get your popcorn ready.”

Glasspiegel raises an interesting point. There have seemingly been many people who have turned their backs on Russini since her actions have come to light. If she’s bitter about the door hitting her on the way out, Russini might just wake up one day feeling like burning some bridges.
Of course, it’s also possible that Russini has signed one or two Non-Disclosure Agreements, keeping some of her juiciest stories from ever seeing the light of day.

As of now, The Athletic’s internal investigation into her conduct is still ongoing, and Russini isn’t expected to say anything until the publication releases the findings of the investigation to the public.
As a fan of football who soaks up all the drama, I’m definitely hoping Russini emerges again someday, even if it’s just to spill the tea on what she’s seen, done, or heard over the years operating in the close confines of the NFL.
