Is There an NFL Halftime Performance on Black Friday?

Unfortunately for fans in Philadelphia, the Black Friday game is not part of the NFL’s Thanksgiving festivities and will not feature a halftime performance. The Black Friday game allows Prime Video to still broadcast a game in Week 13, as FOX, CBS, and NBC aired the Thanksgiving Day matchups, pushing Prime out of their regular time slot.

As for the Thanksgiving games, the NFL set up some solid performances to keep the fans hyped as they waited for the second half to kick off. Things got started in Detroit as local artist Jack White of the White Stripes took the stage.

Following a recent induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, White brought another Detroit native out to the stage as Eminem graced the crowd with his appearance at the Green Bay Packers and Detroit Lions game.

During the 4 p.m. ET window, the Dallas Cowboys tabbed rapper and country artist Post Malone to bring his talents to Jerry World for their huge game against the Kansas City Chiefs. With a custom jacket honoring the late Marshawn Kneeland, Post Malone entertained the Dallas faithful, having made many trips to AT&T Stadium as a kid due to his father’s job with the team.

Finally, “Crunk” legend and producer Lil Jon kept the fans at the Cincinnati Bengals and Baltimore Ravens AFC North battle warm by playing a few of his hits, including “Yeah” and “Turn Down for What.”

The decision not to have a halftime show is interesting, as the NFL even had dedicated halftime shows for the International Series. It’s not clear whose decision it was not to have a performance; however, given the fact that the broadcast shares some highlights of the artist, it very well could have been Amazon that turned down the idea of a halftime show.
