Josh Allen helped the Buffalo Bills jump out to a 34-3 halftime lead over the Jacksonville Jaguars with one of his best performances yet. After such a strong start to the game, his team had little need for his services to close things out. Bills fans and fantasy football managers across the nation can relax; Allen is not injured, he simply exited the game after the result was assured.

Josh Allen Rests Late in 4th Quarter in Lopsided Win Over Jaguars

Allen fired in four touchdowns in the first half of the “Monday Night Football” contest and saw himself become the NFL MVP favorite in the process. While Allen has long been a prolific passer and rusher for the Bills, this start to the season has been unique in a way.

While Allen has struggled mightily with turnover woes in the past, he has yet to throw a pick on the young season, even though he has continued to push the ball downfield enough to serve as a one-man wrecking crew en route to a 3-0 start for the Bills.

The performance against Jacksonville was one of his most impressive yet, as the Wyoming alum hit tough throw after tough throw en route to the massive early lead. With the win, the Bills became the only team in the AFC East to start the year 3-0, putting them in a commanding position in what could be an absolutely fascinating race for the division crown.

With a tremendously challenging stretch of schedule coming up — three consecutive road games against playoff contenders Baltimore, Houston, and New York — there’s no reason for Buffalo to overwork their franchise quarterback, especially with a short rest after the Monday night game, the best thing for Allen and the team is for him to get some rest ahead of a pivotal portion of the season.
