Who Is Performing the National Anthem at Raiders-Broncos?

Denver-based singer Kayla Ruby, who first captured national attention with her stirring rendition of “The Star-Spangled Banner” in 2017, will return to perform the national anthem and set the tone for Thursday night’s primetime showdown.

Originally from Texas, Ruby began pursuing a professional music career at just 17 years old. She has opened for national touring acts such as Parker McCollum and the Eli Young Band, and she has performed at several high-profile events over the years. Her anthem resume includes appearances at Monday Night Football in 2017, a game in 2024, and earlier this season in 2025 for the Broncos’ Week 4 matchup against the Bengals.

Ruby has described performing at Broncos games as one of the proudest moments of her career, calling the experience overwhelming and deeply meaningful.

“Performing at the Broncos game on Sept. 11 was incredible,” she recalled of her first experience. “ I was so nervous. It felt as if the stadium was going to eat me up, but really, the event was about representing the people standing behind me.

“Everyone holding the flag that night was either a volunteer from 9/11 or a family member of a victim, and I wanted to go out there and make them proud, so that was probably the highlight to be honest”.

Following her third performance this season, Ruby’s appreciation for the fan base has only grown.

“Year NINE 💙🧡 I’ll never have the words to say how much I love @broncos country. Thank you for always welcoming me with open arms and giving me such beautiful opportunities to honor this country and those who serve. See ya soon 🤍,” she wrote.

Ruby’s breakout moment came during that nationally televised 2017 performance on ESPN, and she has continued to build momentum ever since. She has released several singles, including standout tracks like “Never Really Know Somebody,” “Ladies Night,” and “Even Jonny Stumbled.”

Her rising profile was further recognized with a nomination for Female Vocalist of the Year at the Rocky Mountain Country Music Awards.
