Sean McVay has become one of the most recognizable figures in the NFL since taking over the Los Angeles Rams in 2017. His rapid rise from young assistant to Super Bowl-winning head coach has pushed more of his life into the spotlight, including his relationship with his wife, Veronika Khomyn.
As McVay’s profile has grown in Los Angeles, fans have continued to ask who she is and how long the couple has been together.
Who is Sean McVay’s Wife, Veronika Khomyn?
Veronika McVay was born in Ukraine and moved to the United States in 2009. Per reports, she started her career as a model, working in Ukraine and later in the U.S. with brands including BC Clubbing and UFC Gym.
After relocating, she enrolled at George Mason University in Virginia, earning a bachelor’s degree in international business, and later completed a master’s in global management from Arizona State University.
She has since built a career in real estate. Veronika is a licensed luxury realtor in Los Angeles, working with The Agency and focusing on high‑end properties across the region. She announced her move into the industry in 2021, writing on Instagram that real estate had “always been my passion” and calling it a new challenge and adventure.
Her Ukrainian roots have remained central to her public identity. At the 2022 Critics’ Choice Awards, where she and McVay presented the best picture award, they opened their segment with a statement about Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

“Before we announce the nominees, we’d like to take a moment to talk about what’s on all of our minds: Veronika’s home country, Ukraine,” McVay said. Veronika followed by saying she “proudly” stands with her fellow Ukrainians and praised their “strength” and “grace and bravery,” adding that there is “no place in our world for this kind of violence.”
Rams Head Coach Sean McVay And Wife Veronika Khomyn’s Relationship Timeline
McVay and Veronika first met sometime between 2011 and 2013, according to multiple reports. At the time, he was an assistant tight ends coach in Washington, while she was studying at George Mason University.
They kept their early relationship largely private, but by the time McVay was promoted to head coach of the Rams in 2017, she was a regular presence at games and league events.
Their engagement came during a vacation in Europe in June 2019. Veronika announced it on social media from France and Italy, posting a video of her ring and calling McVay “the man of my dreams, my best friend and the love of my life.” She wrote that she had said yes “to being his McBae forever” and toasted “to our life together.”
When the Rams defeated the Cincinnati Bengals in Super Bowl LVI at SoFi Stadium in February 2022, Veronika was on the field in Inglewood to celebrate. She marked the moment with a detailed Instagram tribute after watching McVay secure his first Lombardi Trophy as a head coach.
“I’ve watched this guy grind nonstop. Day in and day out. No breaks. He always puts everyone else first, and winning this Lombardi trophy for his team, his family, his friends … is a dream come true!!! I love you babe, you deserve this times a million. Victory tastes pretty damn good! ❤️.”
The couple married a few months later on June 4, 2022, in an outdoor ceremony at the Beverly Hills Hotel in Los Angeles. The wedding was officiated by former football player Tom Raponi and featured a cake modeled after the Lombardi Trophy, tying in the Rams’ recent championship.
Their family has grown quickly. The Rams announced the birth of their first son, Jordan John McVay, on October 24, 2023, with his middle name honoring Sean’s late grandfather, former San Francisco 49ers executive John McVay. Their second son, Christian Alexander, arrived in December 2025.
As McVay continues to guide the Rams, Veronika and their two boys have become part of the franchise’s broader story, visible at major moments while largely keeping day‑to‑day family life out of the public eye.
