The world of sports media continues to evolve on a seemingly daily basis, but one of the bigger changes went down when Good Morning Football’s Peter Schrager made a change in his work location. A long-heralded member of the NFL Network and Fox Sports, Schrager is officially joining the ESPN crew.

Peter Schrager’s History
A native of New Jersey, Schrader received his education from nearby Freehold Township High School before graduating from Emory University. In the field since 2006, he has held many positions in the industry, beginning with a role as a writer for ESPN.com.
Soon after, Schrader transitioned to FoxSports.com, where he also got his first taste of opportunity in front of a camera. He’s turned those opportunities into a long career, becoming a near-permanent fixture in NFL coverage.
Schrader has worked extensively on “Good Morning Football” since 2016 while being a part of the “FOX NFL Kickoff” crew since 2018. One of the most trusted voices in the sport, he’s an adept reporter and insider for all things NFL, from the draft to the Super Bowl.
A co-author of two books, “Strength of a Champion” with O.J. Brigance and “Out of the Blue” with Victor Cruz, Schrager is a true wordsmith. But now, he’s bringing his talents back to where his journey in sports media began: ESPN.
Schrager Returns to ESPN
In a press release by the company, ESPN officially announced the signing of Schrager, who will become a regular contributor for most of their marquee programming, including Get Up, First Take, The Pat McAfee Show, NFL Live, and SportsCenter.
He is also expected to be at Lambeau Field in Green Bay for the 2025 NFL Draft when he makes his debut for the company. Counting on his writing skills, Schrader is also expected to be a regular contributor for ESPN.com, as well as ESPN Radio and the network’s podcast lineup.
“Peter will have an instant impact at ESPN, combining his charismatic style and deep knowledge of the NFL,” said Burke Magnus, ESPN president of content. “His versatility is an asset and will be on display across our shows and platforms as he becomes a signature voice of our NFL coverage. He is a tremendous addition to our roster.”
Speaking on the opportunity, it was clear that the nearly 20-year veteran of the industry was excited to be back where it all began for him.
“I’m incredibly excited for this amazing opportunity with ESPN,” Schrader said.
But for him, it was also special on a personal level because of what ESPN meant to him as a sports fan, bringing his journey full circle.
“Beyond their fantastic year-round, wall-to-wall coverage of the NFL, ESPN is personally special to me in that I grew up watching SportsCenter three or four times every morning before school and swore by that NFL Primetime music with Chris Berman and Tom Jackson doing the highlights on Sunday nights.
“I can’t wait to be a part of it all and am thrilled to be joining this incredible team.”
