Josh Harris and the rest of the ownership group are set to hire Adam Peters as the new general manager of the franchise.

Peters will have the responsibility of bringing their team back to respectability. With Washington finding its man for the job, let’s take a deeper dive into who Peters is and just who the Commanders franchise is getting.

Who Is Adam Peters?

Frederick Adam Peters was born in Mountain View, California, and attended Monta Vista High School, where he played football and baseball. After high school, Peters continued his playing days at West Valley College before transferring to UCLA for his final two years.

Following his completion of his undergraduate program, Peters joined the Bruins’ staff as a graduate assistant in the football operations department.

Peters’ NFL Résumé

Peters represented the talent evaluation side of the San Francisco 49ers front office, but before his most recent role, he got his start in the NFL with the New England Patriots under Bill Belichick in 2003, where he won two Super Bowls and then a third with the Peyton Manning-led Denver Broncos.

Peters will be coming to Washington after spending three seasons with the 49ers, where he served as the team’s assistant general manager. Previous to that, Peters spent four years as the vice president of the player personnel for the team and joined them after spending eight seasons with the Broncos.

In total, Peters has 21 years of NFL experience he will be bringing to the Commanders. Peters got his first break into the NFL by way of scouting and started as a regional scout before rising the ranks through his lengthy NFL career.

Peters has continuously climbed the NFL ranks from area scout to now general manager, and while this is his first chance to be the man in charge, he brings over two decades of winning experience with highly successful franchises and hopes to continue his winning ways in the nation’s capital.

He has his work cut out for him, but there is a belief that he is a rising star within the executive world of the NFL, and this may be a quality hire by the new regime in Washington.
