Week 5 of the NFL season is coming close, but not before a crucial Monday Night Football game between two AFC teams with playoff aspirations.
Patrick Mahomes and the 2-2 Kansas City Chiefs will travel to Duval to face the surprisingly successful 3-1 Jacksonville Jaguars. The game is scheduled for an 8:20 p.m. ET kickoff at EverBank Stadium, where referee Brad Rogers and his crew will officiate the contest.
Who Is Officiating the Chiefs vs. Jaguars Game?
Rogers will lead the officiating crew for the Chiefs’ and Jaguars’ matchup, which will be his crew’s fourth game of the young season.

NFL fans last saw this crew during the Houston Texans’ 26-0 shutout of the Tennessee Titans in Week 4. Rogers oversaw a relatively clean game with only 10 total penalties. Six flags, for 50 yards, went against the Texans, while the Titans were penalized four times for 35 yards.
That performance was much cleaner than the crew’s other primetime appearance this season. In a Week 2 Thursday Night Football game, Rogers’ crew handed out 15 total penalties between the Washington Commanders and the Green Bay Packers. The Packers, who are the third-most penalized team in the league with an average of 8.8 penalties per game, received 10 of those calls.
This history raises a question for tonight’s game: Could the home team face a similar fate? It’s certainly possible. The Jaguars currently lead the NFL in penalties, averaging 9.5 per game. That could spell trouble against a Mahomes-led Chiefs team known for capitalizing on every opportunity.
In contrast, the Chiefs have been more disciplined over the past four weeks. Andy Reid’s squad averages 7.3 penalties per game, placing them in the middle of the pack league-wide.
Rogers began his officiating career in 1991 with high school games in his home state of Texas. He moved up to the NFL in 2017, starting as a side judge before being promoted to referee in 2019. Now in his seventh season as an NFL referee, Rogers will lead the following crew for Monday night’s game:
- Umpire: Bryan Neale
- Down Judge: Patrick Turner
- Line Judge: Kevin Codey
- Field Judge: Joe Blubaugh
- Side Judge: David Meslow
- Back Judge: Greg Yette
- Replay Official: Denise Crudup
- Replay Assistant: Brian Smith
