A Look at Byron Murphy II’s Parents
Murphy’s parents are his father, Byron Sr., and his mother, Seneca.
The former Texas Longhorns star’s parents watched him grow from a young athlete in peewee football to an offensive and defensive star at DeSoto High School in Texas.

Speaking to the Dallas Morning News, Seneca recalled times when her son was among the youngest players on his team. Well before he was a standout at DeSoto High School, Murphy made his recreational football team better and made his mother proud.
“He always played with kids who were two or three years older because of his weight and size,” Seneca said. “When he was six, he was playing against nine- and ten-year-olds. But he was a dominant force, and he never came off the field. Every Saturday, he would score somewhere between three and four, maybe five touchdowns.”
Does Murphy Have Any Siblings?
It is not known if Murphy has any siblings. However, one of his uncles tragically passed away before the Big 12 Championship Game against Oklahoma State on Dec. 2, 2023. Texas went on to win 49-21.
“I lost my uncle,” Murphy said following the game, via KVUE. “So today, it means a lot. I dedicated this game to him. It means a lot. I love him, and I’m gonna surely miss him. Having that moment with my family means a lot.”
