Whit Weeks is a linebacker from LSU who is ranked No. 65 on my NFL Draft Top 100 Big Board. This comprehensive scouting report analyzes Weeks’s draft potential, current mock draft trends, and where he ranks among the top prospects.
Whit Weeks’s NFL Draft Potential
Whit Weeks is the higher-ranked LSU LB prospect on my board, despite Harold Perkins Jr.’s greater prestige and recognition. Weeks is a bit undersized as well — listed at 6’2″ and just 225 pounds — but he compensates with high-level long speed, closing burst, processing ability, and reaction speed.
And in spite of his size, he’s shown he knows how to engage blocks with force and stack at the second level. Meanwhile, in coverage, he has the requisite depth discipline and fluidity to manage curl and hook zones effectively. At the NFL level, Weeks will need to add at least 10 pounds of lean mass, but if he can do that, he has the physical and mental qualities to be a superb three-down starter.
CFB Week 9 Update
LSU was without Weeks in Week 9 due to injury, but Weeks should be able to return in time for LSU’s upcoming matchup against Alabama when the Tigers return from their bye in Week 11.
CFB Week 10 Update
LSU was on a bye in Week 10, but the Tigers will return to action in Week 11 against the top-ranked Alabama Crimson Tide. Alabama will test LSU on both sides of the ball. On offense, the Crimson Tide boast a diverse corps led by Ty Simpson, Ryan Williams, and Germie Bernard, as well as a stalwart offensive line, and on defense, Alabama is stout up front, with fast-flowing defenders at all three levels.
CFB Week 11 Update
Weeks missed LSU’s Week 11 contest against Alabama with a bone bruise in his ankle. Weeks was listed as doubtful ahead of the contest, but the hope is that he’ll be able to return for the team’s Week 12 game against Arkansas — ending a three-game streak on the sidelines.
Where Is Weeks Being Selected Most Often in the PFSN Mock Draft Simulator?
Weeks currently holds the No. 58 overall rank among prospects, positioning him as a Day 2 prospect. His most recent Average Draft Position (ADP) of 52.7 as of November 11 reflects that he is typically being selected in the second or third round.
Interestingly, his ADP is higher than his rank, suggesting that users are targeting him more aggressively than his positional ranking might indicate.
Users controlling the Jacksonville Jaguars have been the team that selected Weeks the most frequently over the past week, accounting for 2.6% of their picks across all seven rounds.
