Which Team Has the Most Cap Space for 2026 NFL Season? A Look at a Top 10 List Including the Seahawks

Even as Super Bowl LX takes center stage, front offices around the NFL are already immersed in preparing to maximize their 2026 salary cap space.

On Feb. 8, the Seattle Seahawks and New England Patriots put a bow on the 2025 season and postseason in their Super Bowl LX matchup. But even as the league readies itself to crown a champion, the NFL never really stops moving forward.

Somewhere far from the vibrancy of Super Bowl week, front offices are already immersed in spreadsheets and projections, thinking not about February, but about March, April, and beyond.

A Look at the 10 Teams With the Most Cap Space for 2026

The NFL’s salary cap means teams can’t exceed it once the new league year begins.

While the league sets a base number, projected to fall between $301.2 million and $305.7 million for 2026, each team’s real spending power depends on the choice made years earlier. Unused cap space rolls over, rewarding patience.

For the teams that planned carefully, the payoff could change their 2026 season. According to Spotrac, the following teams round out the top 10 list:

  1. Tennessee Titans – $99 million

If cap space were confidence, the Titans would be walking into the offseason unbothered. With this amount of money, the team has the option to make big decisions.

2. Las Vegas Raiders – $87.8 million

The Raiders have money, but questions. Before free agency begins, Las Vegas must figure out who’s steering the ship. Cutting Geno Smith could free up even more room, though not without consequence.

3. Los Angeles Chargers – $87.2 million

The Chargers know the value of patience. Last season, they saved cap space for in-season flexibility and used it to acquire edge rusher Odafe Oweh. The same approach could be utilized in 2026.

4. New York Jets – $82.65 million

A long list of pending free agents forces New York to decide which relationships are worth continuing and which are better left in the past.

5. Seattle Seahawks – $75.59 million

The Seahawks have money to spend but also have several core players nearing free agency, including Tariq Woolen and Kenneth Walker.

6. Washington Commanders – $67.99 million

Washington has cap space, but a thin roster. Only 36 players are currently signed for 2026, and releasing Marshon Lattimore could unlock even more flexibility.

7. Cincinnati Bengals – $54.6 million

With heavy financial commitments already in place, the Bengals won’t be reckless. After setting aside funds for draft picks and in-season needs, Cincinnati’s remaining space is likely to be used carefully.

8. Los Angeles Rams – $46.76 million

The Rams, once boxed in by the cap, suddenly have room to breathe. Expected roster changes could push their flexibility even further, allowing for meaningful signings.

9. Pittsburgh Steelers – $44.95 million

Pittsburgh’s cap position puts options on the table, especially at quarterback. It’s not an overwhelming amount of space, but it’s enough to matter.

10. Arizona Cardinals – $35.67 million

Rounding out the list, Arizona is expected to take a more measured approach, focused on targeted improvements.
