The NFLPA conducted its yearly survey of all 32 NFL teams, grading them on a variety of metrics with the voters being the players themselves. This year, the Miami Dolphins are leading the pack for the second year in a row, with an A or A+ rating in all categories.
However, when it came to coaching, there were a few surprise results. Both the Baltimore Ravens and the Buffalo Bills finished in the bottom six despite making deep playoff runs. However, the bottom four teams were the only ones where the head coach didn’t register at least a B grade. Let’s check them out:

4) New Orleans Saints (B-)
For the most part, New Orleans Saints players seemed happy in most metrics, as they finished 12th overall. However, the one place where they were really dragged down was in the coaching department. Dennis Allen, now no longer with the team, was said to not be efficient with his time, ranking in the bottom 10 of the league.
Similarly, he wasn’t seen as receptive to locker room feedback, finishing as one of the five worst head coaches in that category. Under him, the Saints got off to a rocket start in 2024 before falling off the deep end, ultimately leading to his firing.
On the year, they fielded the 19th-ranked defense, according to PFSN’s Defense+ metric while having the 22nd-ranked unit on the offensive side by PFSN’s Offense+ metric.
3) Cleveland Browns (C+)
The Cleveland Browns were not a popular team with their players, finishing as the third-worst team overall. However, their problems with the head coach were especially alarming given Kevin Stefanski’s stature around the league.

He’s the only name from this list who’s not been fired, yet. When it came to efficiency, he was among the four worst coaches in the league, while his locker room receptiveness was even worse, inside the bottom three.
The Browns never got off to a solid start. Despite having Myles Garrett on defense, they ranked ninth in PFSN’s Defense+ metric. However, on offense, the unit was atrocious, finishing dead last with an F grade in PFSN’s Offense+ metric.
2) Jacksonville Jaguars (C)
Doug Pederson might not be in town anymore, but he wasn’t a popular customer in Jacksonville, Fla. The Jacksonville Jaguars missed the playoffs two years in a row, and his credibility took a nose dive. He was especially bad with his efficiency, ranking second-last in the entire league.
However, when it came to taking locker room feedback, he was somehow even worse, finishing dead last, inevitably leading to his firing. Under him, Jacksonville had a middle-of-the-pack offense and the second-worst defense in the NFL.
1) Chicago Bears (C)
His clock management was so egregious that X users, fans, media, and even analysts had to call him out. However, Matt Eberflus was just as unpopular in the Chicago Bears locker room as he was outside it. He ranked as the third-worst coach in the league when it came to efficiency.
But in taking locker room feedback, he was worse, finishing second-to-last in the metric, eventually getting fired and replaced by Ben Johnson in the offseason. He ranked dead last overall, and for a playoff-hopeful team that only won five games and had a 10-game losing streak in the middle of the season, it isn’t hard to see why.
