3 Potential Landing Spots for Elijah Moore

Moore was a second-round pick in the 2021 NFL Draft and spent his first two years with the New York Jets. In 11 games, he posted 43 receptions, 538 yards, and five touchdowns as a rookie until a Week 13 quad injury landed him on injured reserve and cut his first season short.

Moore played in 16 games the following year but requested a trade after Week 6. He didn’t like how he was being used in New York’s offense, but the Jets declined to trade him. He finished with just 37 catches, 446 yards, and one touchdown in a year where Garrett Wilson established himself as the Jets’ No. 1 receiving option.

The following offseason, New York traded Moore and a third-round pick to the Cleveland Browns for a second-round selection. He was Cleveland’s No. 2 receiver in 2023, but only totaled 59 receptions, 640 yards, and two touchdowns. The Browns experimented with Moore as a gadget player, giving him nine carries, but he only totaled 11 yards.

2024 was abysmal for Cleveland’s offense as the unit finished last in PFSN’s Offense+ metric, but Moore set a career high in receptions with 61. However, his yardage (538) and touchdown (1) totals dipped, and the Browns let Moore walk after the season.

Following the 2025 NFL Draft, the former second-round pick remains on the free agent market. Here are three teams that could be interested.

Buffalo Bills

Josh Allen led PFSN’s No. 4 offense in 2024, but the Buffalo Bills still need another receiver after adding one in the seventh round of the 2025 NFL Draft. Khalil Shakir led Buffalo with 76 receptions and 821 yards last season and was second with four receiving touchdowns. He’s a reliable option for Allen, but rookie Keon Coleman was the only other receiver to surpass 550 receiving yards.

The Bills traded for Amari Cooper mid-season, and the team is interested in possibly adding another former Browns receiver, as Moore will be visiting the team.

FOX Sports NFL insider Jordan Schultz tweeted, “Sources: Former #Browns WR Elijah Moore is visiting the #Bills today. Moore had a career-best 61 catches for Cleveland last season. He just turned 25 years old.”

Moore isn’t an alpha receiver, but the Bills need to add more weapons to Allen’s arsenal.

Dallas Cowboys

Dak Prescott’s Week 9 hamstring injury doomed the Dallas Cowboys’ 2024 season. The offense lost its potency without Prescott, and Dallas finished 23rd in PFSN’s Offense+ metric last season.

Dallas’ best offensive player is CeeDee Lamb. He led the team in receptions (101) and yards (1,194) last season, and added six touchdowns. Lamb has been aching for a productive running mate and recently named multiple receivers he wanted the Cowboys to draft.

Moore could be a good complementary piece to Lamb in Brian Schottenheimer’s offense. This unit struggled in multiple facets last season, but Jerry Jones should keep Moore’s name in mind.

New England Patriots

The No. 1 focus for the New England Patriots is Drake Maye’s development. He threw for 2,276 yards, 15 touchdowns, and 10 interceptions in 13 games as a rookie. New England has already begun giving him more weapons, adding Stefon Diggs this offseason, but he needs more.

Hunter Henry led the team with 66 catches and 674 yards last season and was tied for second with two touchdowns. Even when Maye took over, this unit was inept and finished No. 26 in PFSN’s Offense+ metric.

The Patriots added Kyle Williams in the third round of the 2025 NFL Draft, but bringing in Moore shouldn’t be off the table. Getting Maye more weapons is the only way New England will contend in 2025.
