Since 1980, the NFL Draft has become a grander event by the year. While an important date on the sporting calendar every year, the impact of its televised nature has made it a huge spectacle for fans of the sport to look forward to. As a result, each year, a city hosts the annual event to bring in a new crop of stars to the NFL.
This year, too, it is no different. With the event generating a ton of buzz and extracurricular excitement, cities are lining up to host the event. After Detroit was the host last year, the 2025 iteration of the event is about to start on April 24.

Where Is the 2025 NFL Draft?
The 2025 NFL Draft is scheduled to take place in Lambeau Field in Green Bay, Wis. It is the first time Titletown has gotten the privilege to host the event since its inception in 1936. Over the nearly century-long process, multiple locations have served as hosts.
However, the new three-day format for the NFL Draft that began in 2010 has made the entire event a celebration in other regards as well. For instance, this year’s event promises a lively, interactive festival featuring immersive sponsor activities, photo ops with the Vince Lombardi Trophy, exclusive merchandise, and autograph sessions.
The actual event will take place over three days, starting April 24. The first round will be televised nationwide on Day 1. The next day, April 25, will feature Rounds 2 and 3. The proceedings will conclude on April 26 with the final four rounds, from Rounds 4-7.
History of NFL Draft Locations
As previously mentioned, the Draft became an annually televised event in 1980. However, the proceedings have been taking place since 1936. Every year, a city takes over hosting duties, with Green Bay getting its chance this year.
Since 2015, a new city has been chosen every year, with Chicago the only place to repeat in back-to-back seasons. But before this change, the previous 50 iterations were held in New York City.
Before New York essentially became the city where drafts were conducted, it was a three-way tie between them, Chicago, and Philadelphia, as they regularly switched places.
The only exceptions to the rule were Milwaukee, Wis., in 1940, Washington, D.C., the next year, and Pittsburgh in 1948. Coincidentally, the 1956 iteration is the only one to take place at two different times at two different locations.
While part of the NFL Draft was held on Nov. 28, 1955, in Philadelphia, a second slate on Jan. 17 and 18 of the following year took place in Los Angeles.
