One of the biggest questions plaguing the NFL world this offseason was the next destination for Aaron Rodgers. One of the greatest quarterbacks in league history had an unsavory end to his tenure with the New York Jets, paving the road for a potential new chapter in an already historic career.
However, with the NFL Draft and rookie training camps already in the books, there is still no confirmation on where Rodgers might play, if at all, next season. A prominent biographer and sportswriter, though, believes he has the answers the world has been searching for.

Aaron Rodgers Deciding Soon?
The quest to sign Rodgers had multiple teams entering the race, including the New York Giants and the Minnesota Vikings. However, both teams bowed out, leaving the Pittsburgh Steelers as the prohibitive favorites.
But, three months after Super Bowl 59 came to an end, there has been no update from the four-time MVP himself. However, sportswriter Ian O’Connor finally has some answers about what the situation entails.
Moreover, he believes an agreement is already in place between the Steelers and the former NFL Champion, with a potential announcement arriving as soon as the end of the month.
“I just think verbally, behind the scenes, not that he guaranteed it, but he’s told [the Steelers], ‘Listen, I’m gonna play for you. I just don’t want to go there and then miss part of mandatory minicamp because of my personal issues. I’m pretty sure they’re gonna be solved by the end of May, at least in my satisfaction where I can give you my all.’ So that’s where I think he is.”

A verbal agreement between the two sides would explain the Steelers’ insistence on not adding any quarterback for the first five rounds of the 2025 NFL Draft, especially with potential QB1 Shedeur Sanders still on the board.
While they eventually added Will Howard to the roster, he is projected to be a backup in Year 1, at the very least. On the other hand, the last anyone heard from Rodgers directly was in his first appearance on the Pat McAfee Show this offseason. At the time, he made it clear that personal commitments had stopped him from making a decision.
But, Connor believes, “I don’t think it would prevent him from playing football with the Steelers.” Confirming that he had been in some contact with people from Rodgers’ camp, his words do give some clarity into what the future could hold for Pittsburgh and its quarterback.
