When Can You Buy Tickets for the 2025 NFL Season?

According to Vivid Seats, tickets can be purchased as soon as the games are announced on May 14. Some games are already available for pre-sale. For example, tickets have been available for pre-sale for the Denver Broncos’ announced Christmas showdown against the Kansas City Chiefs.

Additional tickets could become available over time, but the most guaranteed way to be able to purchase them is as soon as they become available.

The first game of the season will take place on Thursday, Sept. 4, at 8:20 p.m. EST. The primetime affair will feature the Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles taking on the Dallas Cowboys.

The game will be available to stream on Peacock and NFL+. As is tradition, fans can also tune in on NBC. Telemundo, and Universo are also options.

How Is the NFL Schedule Made?

The NFL schedule creation process is a complicated undertaking. According to NFL Operations, it takes thousands of cloud-based computers to calculate the final schedule.

That schedule is reviewed and tweaked by more than half a dozen people tasked with making the best possible schedule.

Factors considered for the lengthy schedule are other events taking place in the stadiums, the time required to set up the venue, and keeping things in line with the rules of the league, such as every team playing every team in their division twice per season.

The opponent lists for each team are released first near the end of the season, with the official final schedule getting released in May. In 2025, the schedule will be released on May 14.

How Long Is the NFL Season?

The NFL season will begin in September and end in January. The first game will take place on Sept. 4, and the final game is projected to take place 18 weeks later on Sunday, January 11, 2026.

After that, the playoffs take place, culminating in Super Bowl 60 on Feb. 8, 2026. This year, the game will take place in Santa Clara, California at Levi’s Stadium, the home of the San Francisco 49ers.
