What is Going on with NFL Redzone in Week 14?

Scott Hanson and NFL RedZone have taken over as one of the premier places to watch Sunday games at one and four p.m. ET. That’s why when the sound went out for static shortly after the kickoffs in Week 14, fans were confused and rightfully upset.

The issue appears to be at the source through the NFL Network, as the problem is also visible on linear cable, NFL+, and Sunday Ticket on YouTube. As Dov Kleiman pointed out on X after the static started, “NFL RedZone got hacked??”

He was far from the only person who commented on the audio issues plaguing the broadcast. X sports aggregator Ari Meirov also commented on X, “uhhh, are the NFL RedZone studios good?”

SB Nation Dallas Cowboys writer RJ Ochoa echoed the sentiment trending on social media regarding the channel’s sound issues, questioning, “Is the RedZone audio broken???”

While people were concerned, the prolonged audio outage began to upset some individuals. Another account explained, “This NFL RedZone audio sure is ruining a Sunday morning of football.”

While the static was a bit deafening, some people were able to poke fun at the situation. This account shared the same video clip from Kleiman earlier, but instead captioned it with Hanson’s, “Quick update from the Colts,” before the audio went crazy, which they labeled *Sounds of Death*.

Thankfully for fans and the network alike, the static was stopped, and Hanson resumed his commentary on the Week 14 broadcast.

While the outage lasted just over six minutes, between the addition of commercials this season and ESPN acquiring distribution rights, the audio issues are just another knock on RedZone’s reputation in 2025. NFL Network will be crossing its fingers that there isn’t another issue this season.
