After a Thursday full of exciting matchups, Week 5 of college football follows it up on Friday night with several intriguing conference duels. ESPN is featuring a double-header in the ACC and Big 12, with Louisville vs. NC State and Cincinnati vs. BYU.

What Time Are the CFB Games on ESPN Tonight?

    Louisville @ NC State

    • Start Time: 7 p.m. ET
    • Channel: ESPN
    • Weather: AccuWeather projects the game to be about 76 degrees with mostly clear skies.
    • Odds: Louisville -3.5
    • Over/Under Total: 55.5

    Series Record

Louisville leads the all-time series at 8-4

    What’s at Stake

Both teams are unbeaten in ACC play, with Louisville chasing its first 5-0 start since 2013. NC State hasn’t lost its first ACC home game since falling to Louisville 20-13 in 2015.

Louisville will lead its high-flying offense that is in the top 10 nationally in total yards and scoring against a Wolfpack defense that ranks 43rd in total defense and is giving up nearly 22 points a game.

Louisville’s offense, led by a dynamic trio of Jack Plummer, Jawhar Jordan, and Jamari Thrash, is one of the country’s best. Each of them should receive plenty of attention when they declare for the NFL Draft. They’ll have to square off against talented NC State linebacker Payton Wilson, defensive end Davin Vann, and cornerback Shyheim Battle.

When NC State is on offense, all eyes should be on the battle between Wolfpack left tackle Anthony Belton against Louisville’s Stephen Herron and Ashton Gillotte. Both of them are in the top five among all ACC rushers in pressures so far this season.

    Cincinnati @ BYU

    • Start Time: 10:15 p.m. ET
    • Channel: ESPN
    • Weather: AccuWeather projects the game to be a cool 62 degrees with mostly cloudy skies.
    • Odds: Cincinnati -1
    • Over/Under Total: 49

    Series Record

BYU leads the all-time series at 2-0

    What’s at Stake

Both BYU and Cincinnati are looking to avoid starting 0-2 in their first year of Big 12 play. These two teams haven’t squared off since 2016.

This should be a physical match, with both squads boasting stout defensive lines. When Cincinnati has the ball, expect Emory Jones and Corey Kiner to try to establish the run, something they failed to do in their loss last week to Oklahoma.

They’ll face tough sledding going up against defensive end Tyler Batty and linebackers Ben Bywater, Max Tooley, and AJ Vongphachanh.

BYU’s offense has struggled to settle in and find its groove in the running game, but quarterback Kedon Slovis has been effective so far in guiding the Cougars’ passing attack to remain competitive this season.

BYU’s offensive line, led by talented tackle Kingsley Suamataia, will have its hands full with a Cincinnati defensive line group headlined by Dontay Corleone, Jowon Briggs, Eric Phillips, and Daniel Grzesiak.
