‘Welcome Kellen Moore Do Your Thing’ – Saints Fans Greet New Head Coach After His Super Bowl Season With Eagles

The Philadelphia Eagles will move on to their third offensive coordinator in the past three years, as Kellen Moore accepted the head coaching position with the New Orleans Saints. The news came two days after the Eagles hoisted only their second Lombardi Trophy.

Fans Welcome New Head Coach Kellen Moore

While this wasn’t all that surprising, Moore leaves behind a group that is grateful of his work but also a bit disappointed that his time there wasn’t longer. But it is also New Orleans gain, as reflected in the excitement of the program’s fans.

“Welcome Kellen Moore Do your thing playa,” a fan said.

“This makes me happy.” Another fan wrote.

“Thank you Coach Moore for helping bring another title to Philly! Best of luck in New Orleans!” a Philly fan commented.

Since 2019, Moore’s offenses have ranked fifth in the NFL in both points per game with 26.4, and yards per game with 376.5. His quarterbacks’ QBR ratings also ranked fifth in the NFL, according to ESPN.

“Congrats coach, keep living it up we’re champions all year and forever 🤙🏽🦅💚🏆🤟🏽,” a fan noted.

“Welcome, Coach Moore and family! We hope you’ll be successful and happy here! 🖤💛,” another commented.

“That’s my coach!” a fan chimed in.

Moore was a QB himself at Boise State from 2007 to 2011 and played in the NFL with the Dallas Cowboys and the Detroit Lions. After retiring in 2017, Moore began coaching as the Cowboys’ quarterbacks coach in 2017 and then their offensive coordinator from 2019 to 2022.

He coached the Los Angeles Chargers’ offense in 2023 before becoming the Eagles’ offensive coordinator this season. He now joins New Orleans, saying in a statement:

“I am excited to join the New Orleans Saints and deeply appreciate the faith that Mrs. Benson and the entire Saints organization have placed in me. I look forward to embracing the challenges ahead and am eager to get started. I would also like to thank the Philadelphia Eagles for an incredible 2024 season. I’m excited to begin this new chapter.”

Since quarterback Drew Brees retired and coach Sean Payton left, the Saints have been battling to stay afloat, not having made the playoffs since 2020. Now, as Moore joins them, maybe they have a fighting chance again.

What he brings to the table is strong offensive experience to a team that has been having difficulty in that area. His adaptability to implement new plays, like he did with the Eagles, will help with players on the team like Alvin Kamara and Chris Olave, as he has also said, “Everyone’s got superpowers. Just find what their superpowers are, lean into those.”

Meanwhile, his past work with different teams should help him build a strong staff on both offense and defense.
