Shedeur Sanders’ worst nightmare has happened. After entering the pre-draft process as the potential No. 1 overall pick, Sanders slipped out of the first round entirely.
Many assumed that the Pittsburgh Steelers at No. 21 were his floor, but they passed on him for DT Derrick Harmon. Then, the New York Giants traded up but opted to take Jaxson Dart instead of Sanders. However, despite the disappointing outcome, Sanders’ kept his spirits high and had a fun time with family and friends.
Shedeur Sanders Performs for Family Instead of Teams
Sanders could have sulked after not hearing his name called, but he didn’t let his second-round slide ruin his night.
Instead, Sanders took to the mic and performed a rap show in front of his family and friends.

The quarterback prospect rapped a number of songs, including his original track “Perfect Timing” that he released last year and a song by the late Juice WRLD.
With Day 1 of the NFL Draft in the books, the next question is how far the quarterback will slide, and which teams make sense as a landing spot for him?
Potential Day 2 Landing Spots for Shedeur Sanders
Not knowing which team he will be joining has to be hard, but Sanders is doing a terrific job of playing it off and staying patient. However, with a new day comes new possibilities.
Several NFL teams still need a quarterback, and one would imagine that Sanders is now the top QB on most draft boards.
The Cleveland Browns still need a signal-caller. Recent free-agent signing Joe Flacco was the 23rd-best quarterback in the NFL last year in PFSN’s QB+ metric. While the 40-year-old is a decent bridge option, he isn’t a long-term solution. Cleveland traded for Kenny Pickett, but he’s more of a backup. Deshaun Watson is recovering from a torn Achilles and was dreadful last season when healthy. The Browns have the first pick of the second round, so they could end Sanders’ slide right as Day 2 of the draft gets underway.
The New Orleans Saints passed on Sanders in the first round, going with offensive lineman Kelvin Banks Jr. With the line solidified, could they circle back to Sanders since Derek Carr might be sidelined for the entirety of the 2025 season? The Saints’ next pick is at No. 40.
The Steelers are also an option, but only if Pittsburgh trades up into the second round (or Sanders’ freefall continues into the third round). The Steelers’ next pick is No. 83 in the third round, so that complicates things a bit.
Other teams like the Los Angeles Rams, Las Vegas Raiders, and Indianapolis Colts become interesting destinations where Sanders could sit for a bit and develop before getting an opportunity to play.
Day 2 of the 2025 NFL Draft gets underway at 7 p.m. ET, and all eyes will be on Sanders.
