Tensions boiled over at the Battledome after the Michigan Panthers’ April 26 UFL matchup, and this time, it wasn’t just the players getting physical on the field. Fans are no strangers to chirping at athletes during games, especially in the intense atmosphere the Dome is known for. But postgame frustrations spilled into the stands when Michigan Panthers wide receiver Samson Nacua was caught on video in an ugly altercation with a fan.
Samson, the younger brother of Los Angeles Rams star Puka Nacua, has been trying to make a name for himself in the UFL this season. Instead, he found himself in headlines for a reason no athlete wants — and the moment is quickly making the rounds online.

Postgame Chaos Erupts Between Panthers WR Samson Nacua, Battlehawks Fans
In a video posted to X by MattyFreshTV, Nacua can be seen walking off the field when an apparent verbal exchange with a fan escalates. The video doesn’t capture the beginning of the incident, but it shows Nacua, 27, stepping toward a fan before smacking him in the face and walking away. Nacua’s teammate, cornerback Adonis Alexander, pointed and laughed.
Things got a little heated in the Battledome last night..

It’s unclear what was said. Anybody who’s been to the Dome knows fans love to chirp players. Appears Nacua wasn’t happy about it.. pic.twitter.com/i8u4L0tqm0

It’s still unclear what exactly was said to spark the altercation. However, anyone familiar with the Battledome knows it’s one of the rowdiest environments in the UFL, with fans known for pushing the limits when it comes to trash talk. By the looks of it, Nacua decided he wasn’t going to let the heckling slide.
So far, neither the Panthers nor the UFL has released a public statement about the incident. Disciplinary action could still be on the table as the league reviews the footage and gathers more details about what unfolded.
The Panthers lost in a tight contest, 32-27. Nacua had three catches on four targets for 46 yards and no touchdowns.
On the field this season, he has made modest contributions for Michigan, totaling 116 receiving yards and one touchdown since the season kicked off on March 28. He’s working to carve out a path in professional football, but incidents like this could overshadow his progress if not handled carefully.
After not being selected in the 2022 NFL draft, Nacua signed with the Indianapolis Colts as an undrafted free agent but was released during final roster cuts. The New Orleans Saints picked him up in 2024 but waived him two weeks later.
His younger brother, Puka, 23, continues to build on what was a breakout rookie campaign with the Rams. In 2023, Puka set NFL rookie records with 105 receptions and 1,486 receiving yards, finishing second in Offensive Rookie of the Year voting behind Houston Texans quarterback C.J. Stroud.
For Samson, the hope is that this moment will be a minor bump in the road rather than a defining one. But in today’s social media-driven sports world, viral moments — good or bad — tend to stick around longer than players would like.
