What’s at Stake for the Ravens and Bills?

Last season was an unmistakable success for both squads. For the Ravens, Jackson had arguably his best season as a pure passer, whereas Allen significantly rectified his turnover problem from years past.

While Baltimore finished with 12 wins on the year and integrated RB Derrick Henry seamlessly into the offense, the Bills shattered all preseason expectations by cementing 13 wins and taking home the AFC’s two-seed.

However, for two quarterbacks on Hall of Fame trajectories, the hurdle to cross comes in the form of the postseason. The Ravens’ season came to an end against the Bills in a brutal game for Jackson, ending with a heartbreaking dropped pass by TE Mark Andrews.

Buffalo, on the other hand, lost to Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs for the fourth time in the Josh Allen era. This year, both teams will try to overtake the Chiefs.

The first Sunday night game of the year offers a chance for the Ravens to exact revenge for their playoff defeat. On the other hand, it allows the Bills to separate themselves from Baltimore and cement themselves as the clear-cut, second-best team in the conference.

The two teams also faced off in the regular season last year. However, that game turned into a complete blowout for the Ravens, who dominated en route to a 35-10 victory. This time around, the Bills will be hoping for a different result.
