WATCH: Barstool Sports Founder Dave Portnoy Savagely Roasts Patriots’ Opponents In Viral NFL Schedule Reveal

The 2025 NFL schedule release videos are out, and with them came a wave of creativity from team social media departments, delivering yet another round of great content. Some teams went with a more subtle approach, while others leaned fully into playful jabs.

One of those teams was the New England Patriots, who brought in Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy to reveal their matchups for the season, and he didn’t hold back on any franchise, especially the New York Jets.

Dave Portnoy Roasts Every One of Patriots’ Opponents In Schedule Reveal Video

The Patriots’ approach to their 2025 schedule release video was one of the wildest this year. Portnoy, known for his raw and brutally honest takes, didn’t hold back on any franchise, confidently backing New England as the favorite in every single matchup.

The first jab was aimed at the Las Vegas Raiders, who will face the Patriots in Week 1 in Foxborough. Portnoy mocked Tom Brady for being both a minority owner of the Raiders and a broadcaster, and also called out the Raiders for firing Josh McDaniels.

“First thing I think, Tom Brady now a part owner of the Raiders. He better not be announcing this game. That’s illegal. I don’t know how he’s allowed to do both. Two, Josh McDaniel was fired by the Raiders. Don’t forget this, he was fired by the Raiders while he was out trick-or-treating with his kids on Halloween. It’s time to remind the league when you mess with the Patriots, it comes in blood. We are going to destroy this team.”

Next up were the Miami Dolphins, with Portnoy claiming the city doesn’t have a football atmosphere, just a vibe of partying and having fun. “I live in Miami. No one cares about football in Miami. It’s beach, It’s sunset, It’s a club space. Again, not a football city. 2 and 0,” Portnoy said.

Portnoy’s jabs all aimed to highlight some flaw or vulnerability in each opponent, often exaggerating a weakness or poking fun at a trait tied to the city or franchise.

With the Carolina Panthers, it was the team’s lack of relevance and constant quarterback turnover. As for the Buffalo Bills, the target was Josh Allen and his lack of a Super Bowl ring — with Portnoy joking that the only ring he has is from his fiancée, Hailee Steinfeld.

Some jokes were obvious, like the one aimed at the Atlanta Falcons and their infamous Super Bowl collapse against the Patriots after leading 28-3.

Others were more direct and aggressive, like with the Cleveland Browns, where Portnoy called the franchise a joke and a circus, mocking the sheer number of quarterbacks currently on their roster.

New York Jets Destroyed By Portnoy In Patriots Video

However, no franchise took more heat than the Jets. With a long history of coming up short against New England, Portnoy didn’t hold back, and took shots at the team both times he had the chance.

“Sometimes, I think people are trying to play pranks on the Jets. Why would you ever put the Jets in primetime? You’re looking for another butt fumble game. That’s the only reason to put the New York Jets in primetime, so the announcers can sit there and be like ‘what a horrible franchise these guys are.’ The New York Jets in primetime? Give me a break. We’ll beat him by 40 like we do every single time,” Portnoy said.

Before the 2023 season, the Patriots held a 15-game winning streak over the Jets. During the Tom Brady and Bill Belichick era, the Jets were a consistent punching bag for the dynasty, with Belichick always bringing extra motivation to deliver his best performance against his former team.

And to wrap it up, the second-to-last game of the season is also against the Jets, and Portnoy’s final comment served as the nail in the coffin for the franchise.

“At the New York Jets, December 28th. Oh the Jets… The reason the Jets have stumped for so long, found out the owner’s son is picking their draft picks based on Madden rankings.”
He refers to Jets owner Woody Johnson, who admitted to have blocked a trade for wide receiver Jerry Jeudy, then with the Denver Broncos, simply because Jeudy’s rating in the Madden video game was too low.

Portnoy’s predictions were over-the-top and clearly part of the franchise’s attempt to take on a bolder, more provocative tone. But for Patriots fans, the hope is that he’s actually right, because in that case, New England would be headed for another perfect, dominant season at 17-0. And for Portnoy, it’s just a matter of time.
