The Philadelphia Eagles ran away with a big lead over the Washington Commanders on Saturday night at Northwest Stadium in Landover, Md., and things got chippy on the field.
A post two-point conversion clash between Eagles and Commanders players looked a little like WWE’s classic Royal Rumble for a couple of minutes. The Eagles just bumped up their lead to 29-10 and, well, things broke down quickly.
What Happened Between Eagles, Commanders Players?
After the Eagles converted a two-point conversion following a Tank Bigsby touchdown run, the Eagles and Commanders got involved in a donnybrook.
Eagles guard Tyler Steen threw some punches, and Commanders players also retaliated with some blows of their own.

Steen, Commanders’ defensive tackle Javon Kinlaw, and safety Quan Martin were all ejected. The game continued, though, with the Commanders taking over on offense after the ensuing kickoff.
But the Eagles secured the victory. A late Washington touchdown and two-point conversion put the final score as 29-18 for Philadelphia. The victory gave the Eagles their second straight NFC East Division title. That win also officially eliminated the Dallas Cowboys, one of the Eagles’ biggest rivals, from any NFL playoff consideration.

As for the Commanders, it’s been a season full of injuries. On Saturday night, injuries once again played a role in their ballgame. Starting quarterback Marcus Mariota was forced into the Commanders’ blue tent with a right hand injury. Mariota was also checked out for a concussion and, at one point, he headed back to the Commanders’ locker room with team medical personnel.
Backup quarterback Josh Johnson came on in relief but ended up throwing an interception. The Eagles turned that into a touchdown. Then, Bigsby put an exclamation point on the win. But things weren’t totally peaceful after that two-point conversion play.
It’s not surprising to see the Commanders get involved with the Eagles. This entire season has been frustrating for Washington head coach Dan Quinn and his whole team. Starting quarterback Jayden Daniels was lost for the season with a left, non-throwing elbow injury.
The victory helped the Eagles go to 10-5 for the season, while Washington fell to 4-11. Next week, Philadelphia goes up against Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills. Then, the Eagles and Commanders go at it one more time, but that game will be played at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia.
And you better believe those Eagles fans are going to be ready to boo Washington out of the stadium.
