Commanders Sign Former USC Star

Via The Commanders: “We have made the following roster moves: – Signed DE Drake Jackson – Placed WR Noah Brown on the Reserve/Injured List – Signed G Julian Good-Jones to the practice squad”

Jackson was the 61st pick in the 2022 NFL Draft after three seasons playing for the USC Trojans.

He spent the first two seasons of his pro career playing for the San Francisco 49ers.

Via ESPN’s Adam Schefter (on October 14): “Commanders are signing pass rusher Drake Jackson to their active roster, per agent Drew Rosenhaus.”

What Are Commanders Fans Saying?

@HineyKinScott: “They need another pass rusher.”

@etoliver1986: “Glad to see he’s still continuing his career just never could stay healthy for SF.”

@Buddyboybets: “Jackson’s signing could be a low risk and high reward move for Washington”

@Sanketkhadse09: “Interesting pickup! Jackson’s pass-rush potential could boost Washington’s D-line, but he’ll need to stay healthy. Big test ahead”

@rfngljaspe: “from the 49ers to the Commanders… that’s a rough flight emotionally”

@olswamptrash: “To be expected when we see Armstrong is now hurt too. Another injury”

The Commanders are coming off a fantastic year where they reached the NFC Championship Game.

Right now, they are 3-3 in their first six games, which has them as the second-place team in the NFC East.

Following Dallas, the Commanders will play their next game on Monday night (October 27) when they visit Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs.

Via John Keim of ESPN: “Dan Quinn said that newly-signed DE Drake Jackson is still “working back” from his knee injury.”

As for the Cowboys, they will enter the matchup with a 2-3-1 record in their first six games, which has them one spot behind Washington.

After their Week 7 matchup, they will visit the Denver Broncos on Sunday (October 26) in Colorado.

Last season, the Commanders beat the Cowboys by a score of 23-19 in Dallas.
