The Tennessee Titans are about to debut new uniforms for the 2025 season, marking another shift in the franchise’s visual identity. It’s happening as Cam Ward arrives in Nashville as the first overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft.
Franchise legend and Hall of Fame quarterback, Warren Moon, has also granted Ward permission to wear his iconic and retired No. 1 jersey.

Besides Allowing Cam Ward to Use His Number, Moon Reveals New Unis Are Coming to Tennessee
“The Tennessee Titans have new uniforms coming,” Moon said on the “Up And Adams” Show. “A whole new set, and I’ve seen glimpses of them, but it’s not the Houston Oiler jersey.”
When asked what they look like, Moon said, “Pretty good.”
“They fit with the times, but they’re also a little futuristic. So, they will advance with the times. Put it that way.”

The Titans’ uniform is rooted in their origins as the Houston Oilers. The Oilers’ iconic Columbia blue and red color scheme was a staple until the team relocated to Tennessee in 1997.
Upon becoming the Titans in 1999, the franchise introduced a new name, logo, and color palette using navy blue, Titans blue, red, and silver, which have been central to the team’s identity on both main and alternate versions of their uniforms.
The Titans have paid homage to their Houston roots in recent seasons, wearing Oiler throwback uniforms. But the team announced that these throwbacks won’t be part of the 2025 uniform rotation, possibly signaling a move towards leaning into a distinct Tennessee identity.
Significance of the Uniform Redesign
The upcoming uniform overhaul represents more than just a change in aesthetics; it symbolizes a new era for the Titans. With Cam Ward at the helm, the franchise aims to rejuvenate its image and performance.
The redesign is expected to blend modern design elements with nods to the team’s history, aligning with trends seen in other NFL teams’ recent uniform updates.
While specific details of the new uniforms have yet to be released, the anticipation suggests a comprehensive rebranding effort. This initiative aims to resonate with both long-time fans and a new generation, reflecting the team’s commitment to progress while honoring its legacy.
Regardless, the fact that Moon would allow Cam Ward to use his jersey number speaks volumes to how he feels about the rookie even without spelling it out. Titans fans can only hope that their new quarterback can meet the expectations, both said and unsaid, as the team moves into 2025.
