Wan’Dale Robinson Fantasy Waiver Wire: Analyzing if You Should Consider Adding the Giants WR

The New York Giants entered Cleveland, upsetting the Browns on their home turf. One of the reasons why they were able to suck the world was because they leaned into their wide receivers with Malik Nabers and Wan’dale Robinson. Nabers will not be available in any leagues. However, Robinson is only rostered in 34% of Sleeper leagues. This low rostership has us questioning if Robinson can help us on our journey to winning our fantasy football leagues.

We analyze the key insights, role within the Giants’ offense, and more to help you correctly identify whether Robinson can help bolster your lineup in Week 4.

Should Wan’Dale Robinson Be Added on the Fantasy Waiver Wire in Week 4?

Although there will be a rise in Robinson’s rankings this week, we should approach with caution if we do not play in a point-per-reception (PPR) league. If we do play in a PPR league, Robinson can be what we call a great “PPR Scam,” as his ability to rack up receptions leads to quick and easy points for our fantasy football lineup. Robinson has seen eight or more targets in two of the three games. In both of those games, he recorded six receptions and seven receptions. Robinson has created a hyper-efficient option within the Giant’s offensive scheme.

TruMedia shows us that Robinson does not break the metric of any of our usual favorite statistical areas, such as air yards per target, yards per reception, or even yards after the catch. However, his 24 targets rank him 15th most in the NFL heading into Week 4.

Robinson has also been a player that Daniel Jones trusts in the offense. Robinson has recorded eight first-down conversions on his receptions, the 20th-best in the NFL this season. The Giants do not have multiple weapons on offense. As Nabers develops his routes down the field, Robinson settles in closer to the line of scrimmage to help Jones move the team forward.

Next week, the Giants will need to lean into Robinson once again as they face the Dallas Cowboys. The Cowboys can bring the heat with pressure from multiple avenues. This pressure will force Jones to have less time in the pocket and, therefore, have to hit his shorter targets throughout the game.

If Robinson is available in your league, you can PPR Scam your way to a decent lead to start the week as the Giants and Cowboys play on Thursday night. It’s risky to lean into any wide receiver surrounding Jones when he plays against teams that can bring pressure. However, with the state of injuries across the league, Robinson may be a great way to elevate your roster if you are reeling from injuries with superstars like Deebo Samuel, Cooper Kupp, or AJ Brown.
