The Minnesota Vikings had the third-oldest roster heading into the 2024 season, and following the 2025 NFL Draft, they still rank as one of the oldest teams in the league. From Andrew DePaola to C.J. Ham, let’s analyze the top 10 oldest players listed as active on the Vikings’ 2025 roster.
Minnesota Vikings Top 10 Oldest Active Players in 2025
1. Andrew DePaola, LS – Age 37
DePaola is certainly peaking at his age in the NFL and missed four games last season. But he’s as reliable as it gets, as the long snapper became the first to earn three consecutive Pro Bowl selections, a streak that started in 2022. He arrived in Minnesota in 2020 and has also made two first teams since.
2. Harrison Smith, S – Age 36
Smith is a potential Hall of Famer and a certain one in Minnesota as he continues to go stronger entering his 14th season in the NFL with the Vikings. With 50+ solo tackles in each of his last nine seasons, Smith is still getting $10 million on one-year deals in 2025.
3. Javon Hargrave, DT – Age 32
Hargrave is coming off an injury-ridden stint with the San Francisco 49ers, but the Vikings appeared to show trust in his past production and handed him a two-year, $30 million deal. He had a career-best season with the Philadelphia Eagles in 2022 before his 49ers stint, posting 37 solo tackles and 11 sacks.
4. Ryan Kelly, C – Age 31
Kelly is another newcomer in Minnesota and brings a veteran presence to the Vikings’ offensive line. A former first-round pick of the Indianapolis Colts, Kelly is a four-time Pro Bowler and was once the highest-paid center in the league.
5. C.J. Ham, FB – Age 31
Part of the 2016 undrafted class, Ham continues to be an integral part of the Vikings’ locker room. He’s served on both offense and special teams over the years and is listed as a fullback for his ninth season in the league.
6. Eric Wilson, LB – Age 30
Wilson was part of the 2017 undrafted free agent class and returned to Minnesota in 2025 following brief stints with the Eagles, Texans, Saints, and Packers. He hasn’t matched his initial production in the league, but he will hope the Vikings reunion revives his career.
7. Aaron Jones Sr. RB – Age 30
Jones is coming off a career-best season in what marked his first in Minnesota in 2024. He posted a career high of 255 carries for 1,138 yards and five touchdowns, earning him a two-year deal worth $20 million with the Vikings.
8. Jonathan Allen, RB – Age 30
Allen missed much of the 2024 season due to injury and demanded to be traded at the end of the season. He was a decent contributor for the Commanders since being selected 17th overall in the 2017 NFL Draft, but Washington didn’t find any partners and released him.
9. Andrew Van Ginkel, LB – Age 29
Van Ginkel is another Viking coming off a career-best season that marked his first in Minnesota. He posted career highs in tackles (79), solo tackles (50), sacks (11.5), and interceptions (3), earning him a massive one-year, $23 million extension.
10. Brian O’Neill, OT – Age 29
O’Neill was selected in the second round of the 2018 NFL Draft by the Vikings and continues to be a solid starter at right tackle. He is coming off a Pro Bowl season in 2024 and is set to earn a base salary of $17.4 million in 2025.
