Jayden Daniels had an incredible rookie season after the Washington Commanders selected him second overall in the 2024 NFL Draft. He completely changed the direction of the franchise, leading them to a 12-5 record after they finished just 4-13 the previous season.
Daniels threw for 3,568 yards, 25 touchdowns and nine interceptions. He completed 69.0% of his pass attempts while adding 891 rushing yards and six touchdowns on 148 carries. The 2023 Heisman Trophy winner was named the NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year, earned Pro Bowl honors and finished seventh in NFL MVP voting.
He also led the Commanders to their first postseason victory in 19 years, showing that the moment was not too big for him as the franchise reached the NFC Championship Game. In three postseason games, Daniels threw for 822 yards, five touchdowns and one interception.
He completed 65.8% of his pass attempts while adding 135 rushing yards and a touchdown on 35 carries. His jersey was front and center in a new promo ad for the NFL’s upcoming trip to Madrid, which will feature Washington and the Miami Dolphins.
Ilia Topuria Wears Jayden Daniels’ Jersey In Promo Ad
As Daniels’ stardom grows in the NFL, Ilia Topuria’s stardom has skyrocketed in mixed martial arts. The former UFC featherweight champion, who relinquished his title to move up to the lightweight division, was featured in the promo ad for the league’s upcoming trip to Madrid.
One X user shared the clip of Topuria revealing that he was wearing Daniels’ jersey. He captioned the post, in Spanish, stating:
“Ilia Topuria appears in the announcement of the NFL’s arrival in Madrid, where a regular season game between the Commanders and the Dolphins will be played on November 16 at the Santiago Bernabéu #UFC #NFL”

While Topuria was born in Germany to Georgian parents, he spent some of his most formative years in Alicante, Spain. His fighting debut came in the nation, and he is a self-proclaimed huge fan of Real Madrid. After capturing the featherweight title, he took the belt to Santiago Bernabéu the following week, where he did the honorary kick-off for the Real Madrid vs. Sevilla game.
The undefeated fighter is set to face Charles Oliveira for the vacant lightweight title at UFC 317 next month. He has previously expressed an interest in fighting at Santiago Bernabéu. It is unclear if the mixed martial artist will be on hand for the game between the Commanders and Dolphins; however, following his appearance in the promotional ad, it appears likely that he may be present when the game kicks off on Nov. 16.
